Family is the place that helps war invalid Ngo Van Nam (Khanh Hau ward, Tan An city) overcome all difficulties.
18 years accompanying my wife to regain her health
For the past 18 years, every week, Mr. Phan Van Lit (Ward 1, Tan An City, Long An Province) has taken his wife to Long An General Hospital for dialysis. During that time, Mrs. Huynh Thi Muon (his wife) has lived with chronic kidney failure , and the family has gone through all sorts of emotions . To maintain his wife's life, all the family's assets have been "gone", but for Mr. Lit's family, nothing is more precious than her health. And even if they have to sacrifice more, he and his children still accept it.
Mr. Lit shared: “As a husband, I have the responsibility to take care of my wife and children. My wife has suffered so much, so I have to accompany her, share and love her. For my family, as long as my wife is alive, I am very happy!”
Seeing his wife’s life tied to a dialysis machine, going in and out of the hospital like “daily meals”, especially when she was exhausted from pain, Mr. Lit felt heartbroken. Many years ago, he intended to donate a kidney to his wife, but after doing tests, his kidney was not compatible. Moreover, she was old and her health was not good enough for a major surgery. So day after day, he accompanied her on dialysis sessions.
Mrs. Muon choked up: “Thanks to my husband and children being there to encourage and share, it has helped me regain my spirit and try to maintain my life until today. I am very lucky to have a husband and children who love me wholeheartedly. My family is my peaceful support!”
18 years - such a long time that not everyone has enough patience and love to overcome difficulties. However, after all those years of facing difficulties, not a single day has passed that Mr. Lit and Mrs. Muon have let go of each other.
Love the word "family"
Returning after completing his international duty at the southwestern border battlefield, veteran Ngo Van Nam (Khanh Hau ward, Tan An city) suffered a disability of over 90%. When the weather changed and his old wound relapsed, he had to be hospitalized for a month, but his wife and children were always by his side. To date, he has undergone four amputations of his leg, but still could not remove all the shrapnel, and the wound is constantly painful.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Be Sau (Mr. Nam's wife) shared: "Coming from a family with a revolutionary tradition, I understand and am proud of my husband's contributions and sacrifices. Therefore, no matter how difficult the situation is, I will always accompany my husband to overcome it and try to take good care of him."
Despite his disability, Mr. Nam is fortunate to have a happy family, a wife and children who love him very much, and well-behaved and filial grandchildren. This is a solid spiritual support, helping him overcome the ups and downs and changes of life. Mr. Nam confided: “If I didn’t have a family, I would be very pessimistic! My job is to make wedding invitations, and when work is stressful and tiring, my wife is always there to share and encourage me. My family members always love and share with each other, building a warm home.”
In life, everyone has to face difficulties, challenges, failures and at that time, family is the place that gives us strength and motivation to move forward. The story of Mr. Lit and Mrs. Muon or Mr. Nam and Mrs. Sau helps us love our own home more. Then, family will always be a peaceful place for everyone./.
