At the end of the trading session, the price of Robusta coffee on the London floor on June 21, 2024 at 4:30 a.m. increased sharply to 3,854 - 4,329 USD/ton. Specifically, the delivery period for July 2024 was 4,329 USD/ton (up 124 USD/ton); the delivery period for September 2024 was 4,174 USD/ton (up 114 USD/ton); the delivery period for November 2024 was 4,004 USD/ton (up 114 USD/ton) and the delivery period for January 2025 was 3,854 USD/ton (up 123 USD/ton).

Similarly, the price of Arabica coffee on the New York floor on the morning of June 21, 2024 increased sharply, from 229.30 - 234.55 cents/lb. Specifically, the delivery period for September 2024 is 234.55 cents/lb (up 8.30%); the delivery period for December 2024 is 232.55 cents/lb (up 7.70%); the delivery period for March 2025 is 231.25 cents/lb (up 7.55%) and the delivery period for May 2025 is 229.30 cents/lb (up 7.20%).

The price of Brazilian Arabica coffee increased slightly on the morning of June 21, 2024. Specifically, the delivery period for July 2024 is 283.90 USD/ton (up 0%); the delivery period for September 2024 is 286.70 USD/ton (up 8.15%); the delivery period for December 2024 is 282.65 USD/ton (up 9.45%) and the delivery period for March 2025 is 271.80 USD/ton (up 0%).
Robusta coffee traded on the ICE Futures Europe (London exchange) opens at 16:00 and closes at 00:30 (next day), Vietnam time.
Arabica coffee on the ICE Futures US floor (New York floor) opens at 16:15 and closes at 01:30 (next day), Vietnam time.
For Arabica coffee traded on the B3 Brazil floor, it will be open from 19:00 - 02:35 (next day), Vietnam time.
Domestic coffee prices were updated at 4:30 a.m. on June 21, 2024 as follows, according to www.giacaphe.com, domestic coffee prices today are in the range of 120,000-121,000 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 121,100 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 121,200 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai province (Chu Prong) is 121,000 VND, in Pleiku and La Grai the same price is 120,900 VND/kg; In Kon Tum province the price is 121,000 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province the coffee is purchased at the highest price of 121,200 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 120,000 VND/kg.
Coffee prices today (June 21) in Dak Lak province; in Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at about 121,000 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 120,900 VND/kg.
World coffee prices today increased again. According to experts, in recent months, Vietnam's export volume has decreased steadily, leading to doubts about the maintenance of Robusta supply from the domestic market.
Drought and pests have severely affected coffee yields, putting pressure on Robusta exports. Leading companies in Vietnam report that their inventories will only last until around June 2024, not until the next harvest season.
Vietnam's Robusta coffee output for the 2023/2024 crop year is expected to fall by 20% to around 1.47 million tonnes, the lowest in four years, putting pressure on Robusta supply in the world market.
USDA forecasts world coffee production for 2023/24 to increase by 4.2%, with Arabica production up 10.7% and Robusta down 3.3%. Ending stocks for 2023/24 are expected to decline by 4%, while Brazilian Arabica production will increase by 12.8% and Colombia’s by 7.5%.
Vietnam's Robusta coffee output for the 2024/2025 crop year (October 2023 to May 2024) is expected to reach only 24 million bags, the lowest level in 13 years.
According to statistics from the International Trade Center (ITC), in the first quarter of 2024, Canada imported approximately 64.66 thousand tons of coffee, worth 404.37 million USD, down 1.9% in volume and 4.9% in value compared to the same period last year. In the first quarter of 2024, the average import price of coffee in Canada reached 6,245 USD/ton, down 3.1% compared to the same period last year. In particular, the average import price of coffee in Canada from most major suppliers decreased, except for the US, Honduras, Vietnam, Switzerland, and Indonesia.
Regarding the supply structure in the first quarter of 2024, Canada imported coffee from more than 80 countries and territories around the world. In particular, traditional coffee suppliers for Canada include Columbia, Brazil, the US, Peru, Guatemala, etc. Columbia is the largest coffee supplier for Canada in the first quarter of 2024, with imports reaching approximately 16.5 thousand tons, worth 76.84 million USD, down 0.5% in volume and 9.1% in value compared to the same period last year.
Colombia's share of Canada's total world coffee imports increased from 25.16% in Q1/2023 to 25.5% in Q1/2024. Brazil was the second largest source of coffee for Canada in Q1/2024, with imports reaching 13.13 thousand tons, worth $44.45 million, up 21.4% in volume and 5.2% in value over the same period last year. Brazil's share of Canada's total world coffee imports increased from 16.41% in Q1/2023 to 20.31% in Q1/2024.
