Since the beginning of 2025, coffee prices have been fluctuating continuously and always at a high level. The reason is due to the influence of fluctuations in the export market.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam exported 509.5 thousand tons of coffee, down 12.9% in volume but up 49.5% in value compared to the same period in 2024.
Coffee export turnover reached nearly 2.9 billion USD. Specifically, the average export price of coffee reached 5,656 USD/ton, up 71.7% over the same period in 2024. This price continued to increase as the export price of coffee in March increased higher than the previous 2 months. The market expects the export price of coffee to soon reach 6,000 USD/ton.
The reason is that some countries with large coffee growing areas in the world are experiencing drought, which is expected to affect coffee productivity in the coming crop year.
At this price, coffee farmers are making high profits. Coffee farmers in the province are increasingly interested in investing in garden care with the expectation of achieving high yields in the next harvest.
