On the supply-demand side, the market continues to show concerns about coffee supply in major producing countries, notably Brazil. Brazil’s main coffee growing region has recorded below-average rainfall in the past 8 months, which is also an important period for coffee trees for the country’s 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 harvests. The low rainfall has raised concerns about the inability of coffee trees to fully recover and develop, leading to a decrease in output.
Expressing concerns about supply due to weather impacts, consulting firm Hedgepoint in its global market report predicted that Brazil's coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year would be around 65.2 million bags. Of which, Arabica coffee output is expected to be at 42.6 million 60kg bags, down slightly by 1.4% compared to the previous crop. Consulting firm StoneX also predicted that Brazil's coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year would decrease by 0.4% compared to the current crop, mainly due to the decline in Arabica coffee under the influence of prolonged drought during the important flowering stage. Accordingly, the South American country's Arabica coffee output in the next crop year would decrease by 10.5% compared to the previous crop, to 40 million 60kg bags.
