Safras & Mercado, an agricultural consultancy, has revised its forecast for Brazil’s coffee production in the 2025–2026 crop year. Contrary to its initial prediction of a sharp decline, the organization has raised its forecast for arabica coffee production from 38.35 million bags to around 40 million bags, or even higher. Although production is still expected to decline compared to the previous year, the level is no longer as severe as initially feared.
In Vietnam, drought in some areas of the Central Highlands is affecting this year’s coffee crop. Farmers in Dak Nong province are struggling to cope with drought and lack of irrigation water during the peak of the dry season.
Faced with the new situation, many businesses said they will adjust their business strategies to adapt, such as diversifying markets, promoting on-site exports, and increasing product value... to avoid being passive.
The Import-Export Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that Vietnam's coffee exports will continue to grow in the short term.
But in the long term, Vietnam's coffee exports will face difficulties as domestic supply is gradually decreasing at the end of the harvest season, pressure from the upcoming new harvest in Brazil and new tariff policies.
