Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of April 18, 2025 |
Analysts said that as concerns about tariffs have subsided, investors have refocused on tight supplies. At the same time, the market has been further boosted by the decline of the US dollar index to a three-year low… which has supported coffee prices to increase continuously in recent trading sessions.
In addition, the increase in coffee prices is the result of a technical recovery after a sharp decline in the beginning of the month.
Despite signs of recovery, world coffee prices still pose risks due to speculation and uncertainty over US tax policies. Farmers and businesses need to carefully consider short-term purchasing and exporting decisions.
The international market is still watching factors such as Robusta inventories falling to a 3-and-a-half week low and drought concerns in Brazil easing thanks to scattered rains in Minas Gerais. The US-China trade war shows no signs of cooling down, but the tariffs being negotiated are also a factor affecting the market.
Brazil’s coffee output in 2025 could be slightly higher than forecast, according to consultancy Safras & Mercado. However, it estimates that farmers have sold only 14% of the new crop, compared with the long-term average of 25% for the period, due to uncertainties about the production outlook.
The Robusta coffee harvest in Brazil is now about to begin, and early deals for the variety are starting to pick up on the domestic market, with volumes expected to continue to increase in the new month.
