On the world market, the silver price listed on Goldprice.org is at 32.4 USD/ounce.
Silver prices fell in the last trading session, with the May contract down $0.435 (1.33%) to $32.54 an ounce, according to Kitco.
Despite a recent correction, silver, a semi-precious metal with many industrial applications, has continued to rise in the last nine sessions. Since opening at $29.23 an ounce on April 7, the price of silver has increased by more than 10%.
According to Jim Wyckoff, senior analyst at Kitco, gold and silver prices fell together due to profit-taking pressure from short-term investors ahead of the three-day Easter holiday. This weakened both metals.
Silver is clearly underperforming gold right now, with the gold-silver ratio rising from 99.24 on April 7 to 102.151 today, a ratio not seen since mid-May 2020, said Gary Wagner, a commodities broker and market analyst.
