Multiplying the value of peace and development

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Festival for Peace, said that this is a national-scale program reaching international levels. This is the largest festival ever organized by the province, contributing to spreading the image of Quang Tri domestically and internationally; at the same time, elevating the annual July gratitude festival.

Up to now, the important contents of the preparation work have been basically completed. The festival aims to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the survival of the Fatherland; to commemorate the victims of war and the painful losses caused by war.

The festival contributes to building Quang Tri step by step into a cultural space for peace, a symbol of the strong vitality of humanity right on the land that was once severely devastated by war; a destination for peace for tourists.

Activities within the framework of the festival closely follow the theme of honoring peace, bringing together social classes, religions, people, tourists, and politicians from within and outside the country.

The opening night of the 2024 Festival for Peace was held at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai River Special National Monument.

During his visit and working visit to Quang Tri province (August 2019), US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink came to burn incense at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery.

Hien Luong Bridge is not only a symbol of the desire for unification, but also represents the spirit of connecting the values of the past, present and future in this historic land.

For the first time, the opening night will feature a music stage combining multidimensional space - creating a multi-touch art program in a performance space with the highlight being a performance with a large number of drones. The artistic idea of the program is emotional touches connecting the past and the future, conveying the spirit of proactive integration of Quang Tri.
