On the occasion of the 9th Global Meeting of Young Parliamentarians taking place at the National Convention Center, on the evening of September 15, in Hanoi, AIPA Secretary General Siti Rozaimeriyanty Dato Haji Abdul Rahman and the Lao National Assembly (AIPA 2024 President) met with young AIPA parliamentarians.

Speaking at the meeting, AIPA Secretary General Siti Rozaimeriyanty Dato Haji Abdul Rahman welcomed and appreciated the participation of young AIPA parliamentarians; stating that the presence of young parliamentarians shows the maturity of the AIPA Young Parliamentarians' Meeting mechanism - originating from the idea and proposal of the Vietnamese National Assembly in 2020 and has now become an official mechanism in AIPA's activities. The AIPA Secretary General suggested that young AIPA parliamentarians continue to promote the achieved results to contribute to enhancing the position, role and image of young AIPA parliamentarians.
The representative of the Lao National Assembly thanked Vietnam for the warm and thoughtful welcome, emphasizing that this is the basis for the 9th Global Meeting of Young Parliamentarians to achieve the set goals. In the spirit of being the Chair of AIPA2024, the representative of the Lao National Assembly invited young parliamentarians to come to the beautiful country of Laos.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Ethnic Council, Vice Chairwoman of the Group of Young National Assembly Deputies of Vietnam, XVth tenure, Dinh Thi Phuong Lan, stated that Vietnam highly appreciates the initiative to meet young parliamentarians of AIPA by the AIPA Secretariat and the Lao National Assembly; believes that AIPA will accompany the IPU to create a suitable legal framework, join hands with the Governments of countries to respond to new challenges; at the same time, promote people's participation in the process of building and implementing national policies as well as in the process of building a stable and prosperous ASEAN Community - a world.
Thanking the young parliamentarians for attending the 9th IPU Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference hosted by the National Assembly of Vietnam, the Vice President of the Ethnic Council believes and expects that the Conference will exchange experiences and solutions to improve institutions and policies in promoting digital transformation, innovation and startups to enhance opportunities for sustainable economic development; exchange and discuss the development of artificial intelligence to contribute to promoting the achievement of sustainable development goals, and share experiences in promoting respect for cultural diversity in the context of technological transformation and globalization.
The Vice President of the Council for Ethnic Affairs emphasized that Vietnam hopes that young AIPA parliamentarians will continue to support the adoption of the Hanoi Declaration, for the success of the Conference, and join hands for a sustainable and prosperous ASEAN and IPU.
