Meeting and congratulating Catholic and Protestant dignitaries on Christmas 2024

On December 16, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province held a meeting to congratulate Catholic and Protestant dignitaries on the occasion of Christmas 2024.

Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee: Nguyen Phi Hung and Nguyen Van Mau, co-chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Phan Thai Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Dung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Major General Nguyen Huu Hop, Director of the Provincial Police Department...

On the side of Catholic and Protestant dignitaries, there were Bishop Dang Duc Ngan, Coadjutor Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese, Administrator of Da Nang Archdiocese; Pastor Vo Dinh Dan, Head of the Representative Board of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) in Quang Nam province, along with other dignitaries and 80 parish priests, priests in charge of parishes, and pastors in charge of Protestant churches in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, on behalf of the provincial leaders and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, sent Christmas wishes of peace and happiness to the dignitaries, monks, and all Christians in the province.

Acknowledging the contributions of dignitaries and Christians to the development of the province, Mr. Le Tri Thanh said that Quang Nam is one of the localities with a large number of religious followers, with about 213,000 people, accounting for nearly 15% of the province's population. Of which, Catholics and Protestants are about 47,000 people, accounting for about 22% of religious followers in the province. In recent years, Catholics and Protestants have been assured of keeping their religion and fulfilling their civic responsibilities, together with people of all walks of life in the province, uniting and actively responding to emulation movements and campaigns;...

Mr. Le Tri Thanh gave Christmas 2024 gifts to Bishop Dang Duc Ngan and Pastor Vo Dinh Dan.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Tri Thanh said that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province will synthesize opinions and recommendations related to the field of religious land to propose the Provincial People's Committee to direct localities and assign tasks to departments and branches to consider and resolve in accordance with legal regulations.

Besides, the provincial leaders also always hope to receive comments and suggestions from dignitaries and monks to build and develop Quang Nam province and the Central region into a strong economic area, rich in natural landscape and environment, diverse in cultural identity, ensuring security and order.

Speaking at the meeting, Bishop Dang Duc Ngan, Coadjutor Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese, on behalf of Catholic and Protestant dignitaries, thanked Quang Nam province for organizing the warm and thoughtful meeting; and expressed joy at the results achieved by the province in 2024.
