The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a meeting with more than 700 delegates of retired and retired senior military officers in the Northern region.
On the morning of January 4, in Hanoi, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a meeting with retired and retired senior military officers in the Northern region. General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense chaired the meeting. Also attending the meeting was General Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA).
Also attending the meeting were former Politburo members: General Pham Van Tra, former Minister of National Defense; General Ngo Xuan Lich, former Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Thanh Ngan, former Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army. Together with leaders of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and more than 700 delegates who are generals, retired senior military officers, retired from work in the Northern region; delegates from agencies of the Ministry of National Defense, delegates from the Vietnam Veterans Association.
At the meeting, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang expressed his pleasure to welcome and meet again the retired and retired senior military officers from different periods. On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang gave an overview of the international, regional and domestic current affairs; the plots, tricks and sabotage activities of hostile forces; outstanding achievements in military and defense work, Party building of the Army in 2023 and the goals, directions and military and defense tasks in 2024. General Phan Van Giang also informed about some contents of strategic staff work with the Party and State on military and defense, building the all-people national defense, building the Vietnam People's Army; outstanding results in implementing defense foreign affairs tasks in recent times.
The annual meeting between the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense with retired and retired senior military officers demonstrates the Party, State and military's concern for previous generations of officers. This is an opportunity for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to meet, encourage, visit, provide information, strengthen solidarity and cohesion among generations of officers; grasp the thoughts and aspirations, create consensus on political ideology; and at the same time, learn valuable experiences from retired and retired senior military officers in the cause of strengthening national defense, building the army and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
General Phan Van Giang sincerely thanks and respectfully requests that retired and retired senior military officers, with their mettle, intelligence, experience, responsibility, and dedication, always preserve and spread the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in life to live happily, healthily, and happily with their families, clans, hometowns, and places of residence.
