Contribute to the formation of modern agricultural production thinking

Although busy preparing to harvest and sell agricultural products to local people, Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Director of Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative, still took the time to share the efforts of the cooperative in recent times. As an agricultural cooperative established in 1996 according to the traditional local model, before converting to the Cooperative Law in 2012, the cooperative operated inefficiently. After converting to the Cooperative Law in 2015, the cooperative has made efforts to innovate in all aspects, its activities have had many positive changes and are growing.

Currently, Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative has 505 members, not only developing public services, taking care of local agricultural production, but the Cooperative also mobilizes additional capital from members and other sources of capital to invest and develop high-tech agricultural production. Along with that, the Cooperative also supplies high-quality rice and vegetable varieties to serve the needs of the people.

Since 2019, the Cooperative has signed a contract with Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company to transfer science and technology and purchase high-tech Kim Hoang Hau melon products produced in greenhouses. Up to now, the Cooperative has invested about 10 billion VND to build 4.1 hectares of greenhouses and net houses to produce Kim Hoang Hau melons, baby cucumbers, safe vegetables, tubers and fruits. At the same time, it supports and encourages the replication of high-tech agricultural production models in cooperative member households. The products "Van Ha melon" and "Van Ha baby cucumber" of Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting 4-star OCOP standards, and are one of the agricultural products that have developed a sustainable production and consumption chain, and are well received by markets inside and outside the province. Thanks to that, the Cooperative's annual revenue reaches more than 26 billion VND, the Cooperative achieves a growth rate of 15%/year or more.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duong said: The cooperative has achieved the results it has today thanks to the consensus and great contributions of its members. Over the years, the unit has always encouraged people to join the cooperative, because they will be equipped with knowledge, change their production thinking, approach many business partners, use and benefit from services. At the same time, they will share the benefits of purchasing members' products and support in solving product output.

Thanks to their continuous efforts, up to now, members of Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative have built a production area of more than 20 hectares of vegetables certified to VietGAP standards, with traceability stamps, bringing in revenue from 380 to 400 million VND/ha/year. In addition to supporting people to invest in applying high technology in agricultural production, the Cooperative also advised the People's Committee of Thieu Hoa town to open a booth to introduce safe agricultural products; bring local agricultural products to participate in fairs, promote products on the software system connecting supply and demand of agricultural products and safe food in Thanh Hoa province.

Efforts to improve workers' lives

Returning from the "Cooperative Star 2024" Award Ceremony in Hanoi, Director of Tan Son Environmental Sanitation Service Cooperative Dang Thi Thuy happily said that the development of the Cooperative as it is today is a process of continuous efforts of the collective of 327 workers and members of the Cooperative.

After 18 years of operation in the field of urban public sanitation, thanks to the dynamism and creativity of the cooperative's management board and members, up to now, Tan Son Environmental Sanitation Service Cooperative has become the leading flag in the group of non-agricultural cooperatives in the province. Currently, the average salary of employees at the Cooperative is 9.8 million VND/person/month. Labor safety at the unit is always concerned and focused. Thanks to that, employees at the Cooperative feel secure in their work and devote themselves to the overall development of the unit.

Ms. Dang Thi Thuy, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Director of Tan Son Environmental Sanitation Service Cooperative, said: The “Cooperative Star 2024” award is a recognition by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance for the contributions of the Cooperative to the economic development of the locality in particular and the development of the collective economy in general. In the coming time, the Cooperative will continue to improve the quality of service activities, develop a plan for the waste classification and treatment model to be highly effective. At the same time, it will focus on creating a united, healthy and cohesive working environment among members of the Cooperative, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of workers in the Cooperative.

Honored and proud of the "Cooperative Stars" of 2024, Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Cooperative Union Nguyen Dinh Tuan said: Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative and Tan Son Environmental Sanitation Service Cooperative were honored and awarded the Vietnam Cooperative Star Award in 2024, which is worthy. The two cooperatives not only operate effectively, contributing to the overall development of the collective economic sector, but also create jobs for many rural workers, create products and protect the environment. Each cooperative has its own goals and values, but in general, it is the effort to produce and do business, bring jobs to workers, and add value to life.
