The Group's social security activities focus on supporting programs to build charity houses and social housing; supporting natural disaster and flood prevention and control; building schools and investing in educational equipment for disadvantaged localities; supporting facilities and medical equipment, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The value of social security implementation from 2006 to 2023 of Petrovietnam reached over VND 7.82 trillion, averaging over VND 430 billion/year. In particular, during the most difficult period of the economy, when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its peak, the Group demonstrated its leading responsibility in supporting the prevention, control and overcoming of the Covid-19 pandemic with an amount of VND 838.77 billion.

To contribute to the social security fund, when the country has major problems such as natural disasters and epidemics, Petrovietnam often organizes extra days off to help increase finances to carry out tasks. From 2010 to now, there have been peak years when the whole Group has worked up to 10 extra days to support overcoming natural disasters and floods across the country.

The Group's annual budget plan for social security work is prioritized for allocation to localities with oil and gas activities, remote areas, border areas, islands, support for natural disasters, storms and floods, and support for epidemic prevention... Therefore, it can be seen that social security work is considered by Petrovietnam as a key task to promote the role, responsibility, and affection of oil and gas workers towards our compatriots and country.

Social security work is also considered by Petrovietnam as one of the important contents in the long-term and sustainable development strategy, the responsibility and affection of Oil and Gas workers towards the social community. Every year, Petrovietnam maintains contributions of hundreds of billions of VND, contributing to changing poor rural areas, not only bringing happiness to many unfortunate lives but also contributing to stabilizing the socio-economy of many localities in the country.

According to comrade Tran Quang Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, September 21 (Saturday) was a day off for many employees of agencies and enterprises, but for nearly 60,000 oil and gas workers it was "Volunteer Saturday". All employees in the industry worked an extra day to save money to participate in social security activities in general, including the reconstruction of Kho Vang village (Lao Cai) in particular.

It can be seen that Oil and Gas workers are always aware that they are shouldering two important responsibilities of a pillar economic group of the country: economic development and social responsibility.

In the context of the Northern provinces being heavily affected by storm No. 3 and its aftermath, Petrovietnam was one of the earliest units to call on all officers, employees and workers in the Group to donate, and at the same time, draw from the social security fund to support the people of the Northern provinces. As of September 20, 2024, Petrovietnam has deployed support of 50 billion VND and nearly 100,000 liters of gasoline to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 in 21 damaged provinces/cities. And on September 21, 2024, in Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province, Petrovietnam organized the groundbreaking ceremony to rebuild the residential area of Kho Vang village.
