Nearly 30,000 drivers violating traffic laws in Thanh Hoa were fined by "magic eye"

Traffic violation fines in Thanh Hoa are the highest in the country, amounting to more than 43 billion VND.

According to statistics from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, in 2024, the police at 3 levels (Province, District and Commune) handled tens of thousands of violations through the camera system and images provided by people.

Through the security camera system, the commune police force handles traffic violations.

At the conference to summarize the coordination of propaganda work in 2024 and launch a peak period of propaganda on the task of ensuring security and order for the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025 held on January 13, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Do Quang Huy, Chief of Staff of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, said: In 2024, the whole province handled more than 123,000 cases of traffic safety violations, with fines of more than 266 billion VND (an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2023).

In particular, the work of handling violations at three levels of police achieved the highest results in the country with a total fine of over 43 billion VND (nearly 30,000 violations).

Through statistics and evaluation, in 2024, Thanh Hoa will lead the country in handling traffic fines.

Regarding this issue, Major Hoang Van Chien, Chief of Quang Hai Commune Police (Quang Xuong District, Thanh Hoa Province) said: Implementing the direction of superiors, the police of communes in the province in general and Quang Hai Commune in particular have used the security camera system to handle traffic violations.

"The whole commune has 32 cameras installed on the roads. When we detect a violation, we will send a notice to the violator's home. Then we will invite them to the commune police station to work and take steps to make a record of the violation.

In 2024, 32 traffic violations were handled with a total fine of VND12.5 million. We focused on violations such as not wearing helmets and carrying three people while participating in traffic," said Major Hoang Van Chien.

It is known that since the beginning of 2024, the police force of Thanh Hoa province has deployed a plan to impose fines through the surveillance camera system.

Up to now, 27/27 districts, towns and cities in Thanh Hoa province have installed surveillance camera systems with more than 150,000 eyes at key routes and intersections.
