The 2025 forest fire prevention, fighting and rescue drill mobilized many vehicles and equipment for forest fire fighting and rescue with nearly 100 participants.

Mr. Lo Van Ngoan, Head of the Department - Head of the Hoang Lien Van Ban Nature Reserve Management Board, said that the hypothetical situation was that at around 9:30 a.m. on March 28, 2025, the Ta Nang village forest patrol team consisting of 5 people led by a local forest ranger patrolled the forest area managed by the Hoang Lien Van Ban Nature Reserve Management Board and discovered a fire at lot 23, sub-area 488, Ta Nang village, Nam Xe commune (Van Ban).

Immediately, the on-site fire fighting and rescue force (Ta Nang village) mobilized the community forest protection team and the people of Ta Nang village and tools including hoes, shovels, and knives, as agreed upon by the village chief and local forest rangers, to fight the fire on the spot.

However, due to dry weather and strong winds, the fire spread widely, and the on-site fire fighting and rescue forces and vehicles were not enough to extinguish the fire. The Head of Ta Nang Village reported to the Head of the District - Head of the Management Board of Hoang Lien Van Ban Nature Reserve, Chairman of Nam Xe Commune People's Committee, and requested to increase support forces.

After more than 1 hour of implementing fire fighting plans, the forest fire was controlled and completely extinguished.

Reinforcement forces including civil servants and officials of the Forest Protection Department, Hoang Lien Van Ban Nature Reserve Management Board, forest rangers; police force, Military Command, Youth Union; commune civil servants, medical staff and local people participated in fire fighting, rescue and relief.

The forces coordinated and used chainsaws, blowers, hammers, hoes, shovels, machetes, tree branches, and shoulder-mounted water sprayers to participate in firefighting and rescue activities.

After more than 1 hour of implementing fire fighting plans, the forest fire was controlled and completely extinguished.

At the experience sharing session, delegates assessed that the forces participating in the forest fire fighting, rescue and relief drills had implemented the scenarios according to the program and script, ensuring close adherence to the actual situation and conditions. The coordination between the forces participating in the drills ensured compliance with the requirements.

The practice session is an opportunity to practice and gain experience to improve the leadership and command role in forest fire prevention, fighting and rescue, and on the other hand, evaluate the coordination between forces. On that basis, the unit develops specific plans and strategies to proactively respond when a forest fire occurs.
