Health authorities in the Gaza Strip announced on November 4 that at least 9,488 Palestinians, including about 3,900 children, had been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7.

Gaza health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said 105 medical facilities in the strip were hit by airstrikes, killing 150 medical workers and destroying 27 ambulances. Thirty-two medical facilities have been shut down, either due to damage or lack of fuel.
On the same day, health officials in the Gaza Strip announced that an Israeli airstrike targeting a UN-run school sheltering civilians had killed at least 15 people and injured dozens more.
Director of al-Shifa Hospital Mohammad Abu Selmeyah said the shelter is for residents of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza who were left homeless by Israeli airstrikes.
On the same day, Hamas said the Israeli air force also attacked the home of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas movement, in the Al-Shati refugee area. Mr. Haniyeh and his family are currently living in Qatar.
US officials are making every effort to free hostages currently being held by Hamas in Gaza, but there is no guarantee of success or a specific time frame.
A senior US government official, who asked not to be named, revealed that there was “indirect involvement” in trying to free the hostages, but the task was extremely difficult.
