Nearly 1 million entries to the contest to learn about 50 years of national reunification

After more than two months of implementation, the Contest to learn about the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) organized by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Central Youth Union has received 966,528 entries.

The information was announced by the Military Youth Committee - the Standing Agency of the Contest at a meeting to deploy the military-level contest marking work, held on April 1, at the B52 Victory Museum (Hanoi).

Implementing the plan and instructions of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army on organizing the Contest to learn about the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the political agencies of the key units under the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have paid attention to leading and directing the good implementation of propaganda work, launching participation in the contest; building a plan to organize the contest at all levels to ensure strictness, science and effectiveness.

The contest attracted a large number of cadres, soldiers, union members and youth of the twinned units to participate, especially many contestants who are international students studying abroad.

After more than two months of implementation, the units have completed organizing the contest at their level. Authors and groups of authors participating in the contest are of different ages (the oldest is 63 years old, the youngest is 14 years old), with a variety of genres and ways of expressing the entries, notably 2,018 handwritten entries and some video clip entries, applying artificial intelligence technology.

At the military level, there were 988 works by more than 4,000 authors and groups of authors participating in the contest. The works expressed their affection and high responsibility for the contest and their belief in the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers; affirming the position, significance, great stature and great historical value of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in the history of the struggle to build and defend the country of the nation and the revolutionary movement in the world.

After receiving entries from the units, the Standing Agency classified, built a scoring criteria framework, scoring sheets and coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct preliminary scoring, ensuring strictness and seriousness, selecting 80 works (groups of works) of nearly 400 authors with good quality to proceed to the next round of scoring.

Through preliminary scoring, the entries that make it to the final round are classified by the Organizing Committee into 4 groups for the Jury to score and announce the results.

Specifically, group 1 includes 10 clusters of the most outstanding works, with creativity and in-depth content.

Group 2 includes 15 clusters of good quality works with creative and unique perspectives.

Group 3 includes 25 clusters of works with good content and meeting the competition requirements.

Group 4 includes 30 clusters of works with good content and form.

Colonel Tran Huu Dung, Deputy Head of the Military Youth Department and Head of the Jury, said that most of the entries were of good quality, expressing deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of previous generations, and for the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

Most of the exam papers answered correctly and fully the questions of the Organizing Committee. Many exam papers of cadres, union members and youth in the Army had a large investment of time, effort and money in collecting documents and methods of expression.

There are works ranging from 1,000 to 5,500 pages, handwritten or offset printed on A2, A3, A4 paper sizes, expressing creativity on many materials such as wood, stone... or combined with model displays.

"The contest is a broad political activity with great influence, contributing to propaganda, education, encouragement, cadres, soldiers of the entire army and people to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism and the spirit of the Great Victory of Spring 1975. Each entry is the effort and enthusiasm of contestants from all over the country. Therefore, the selection of excellent works must be done with care and comprehensiveness," Colonel Tran Huu Dung emphasized./.
