Even the most diligent players struggle to fully survey certain planets in Starfield's Settlement System. However, many players are now finding that they've missed out on "scanning" the fauna in a planet's aquatic biome.
Coastal areas are easy to miss for players who are used to focusing on the shore and have yet to see any aliens. Now, a player's discovery of underwater creatures has sparked interesting discussions, leading the community to express hope for Starfield content set in the water.
In a Reddit post, user “Tyraniczar” shared several images of his incredible “underwater alien” discoveries. Until he encountered these creatures, the player had no idea about the giant sharks or other terrifying underwater creatures that inhabit the many planets of the Starfield universe.
"Tyraniczar" notes that he continued to survey the entire planet of Zeta Ophiuchi I. It was not until he came across a large body of water that he found previously undiscovered creatures: Sharks and rays.
“I am on NG11 with over 300 hours of searching but have never seen any underwater aliens,” the user explained.
Naturally, the comments section of the post was flooded with likes and comments. Starfield players mostly discussed the disappointing absence of underwater gameplay. “I’m sure underwater content was planned and then cut. Hopefully we’ll get it in future patches,” one user responded.
Another user chimed in, “In the upcoming expansion, I hope we get better marine environments and exploration.” Another commented, “This disappoints me that there is no underwater exploration.”
Although the team at Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that the expansion is in development, what it will bring remains a mystery. However, Starfield fans have made a "wish list" with many wishes, putting pressure on the publisher.
