Even the most dedicated players struggle to fully survey certain planets within Starfield's Settlement System. However, many players now find that they've missed "scanning" the fauna in a planet's underwater biome.
The image caused a stir in the Starfield community.
Coastal areas are often overlooked by players who are used to focusing their searches on shore, yet haven't found any aliens. Now, a player's discovery of underwater creatures has sparked interesting discussions, leading the community to express hope for Starfield content set underwater.
In a Reddit post, user "Tyranicz" shared some images of his astonishing discoveries of "underwater alien creatures." Until encountering these creatures, this player knew nothing about giant sharks or other terrifying underwater beings that inhabit the many planets of the Starfield universe.
"Tyranicz" notes that he continued to survey the entire planet of Zeta Ophiuchi I. It was only when he encountered a large body of water that he discovered previously undiscovered creatures: sharks and rays.
This user explained: "I've been on NG11 for over 300 hours searching but have never seen any underwater aliens."
Naturally, the comments section of the post received a "flood" of likes and comments. Mostly, Starfield players discussed the disappointing absence of underwater gameplay. "I'm sure underwater content was planned and then cut. Hopefully we'll get to experience it in future updates," one user responded.

Another user chimed in, "In the upcoming expansion, I hope we get a better marine environment and exploration capabilities." Another commented, "This is disappointing because there's no underwater exploration."
Although the team at Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that an expansion is in development, what it will offer remains a mystery. However, Starfield fans have compiled a long list of wishes, putting pressure on the publisher. Besides sea exploration, Starfield enthusiasts have high hopes for content such as new garrisons and factions.
