Galaxy Z Flip5 on shelves, competing with iPhone 14, Oppo Find N2 Flip

According to dealers, the number of customers pre-ordering Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 has increased by 20-30% compared to the same period last year. Of which, Galaxy Z Flip5 received more attention from users.

A series of large retail systems in Vietnam such as FPT Shop, CellphoneS, Minh Tuan Mobile or Di Dong Viet have simultaneously opened sales of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 duo.

Among them, Galaxy Z Flip5 is the product that receives more attention from users.

"The number of customers ordering Galaxy Z Flip5 at the system accounts for about 70%. This is also expected, because this year's Galaxy Z Flip5 version has many important improvements," said Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, Samsung product manager at Minh Tuan Mobile system.

The same thing was also recorded at the FPT Shop system. As of 6:00 p.m. on August 11, this dealer had received about 2,500 orders. Of which, the Galaxy Z Flip5 model accounted for 55% of the total number of orders.

"The Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 duo have many improvements in hinges, screens and cameras. We expect that from now until the end of August, the total number of orders for the Galaxy Z5 Series will increase 1.2 times compared to the previous generation," said Mr. Nguyen The Kha, Commercial Director of FPT Shop system.

Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip5 has many improvements with the outer screen being increased in size to 3.4 inches. This upgrade allows the device to display more information and run supported applications.

The main screen is 6.7 inches in size, using Dynamic AMOLED technology with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device integrates the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip, a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging.

According to dealers, the number of customers pre-ordering Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 has increased by 20-30% compared to the same period last year.

"After the pre-order period, we recorded about 1,500 customers ordering the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 duo. This number increased by 30% over the same period. The number of customers interested in the Flip line is increasing," said Mr. Nguyen Huy Tan, communications representative of the CellphoneS system.

Ms. Phung Phuong, representative of Mobile World Communications, also said that the number of pre-orders for the Galaxy Z5 Series was about 30% higher than the previous generation. However, this growth rate is still not as expected, because the purchasing power of users is also partly affected by the economic situation.

In contrast to the changes on the Flip line, the overall design of the Galaxy Z Fold5 is not much different from its predecessor. The most notable upgrade lies in the new hinge, which allows the device to fold without creating a gap in the middle like before.

The Galaxy Z Fold5 still has two screens measuring 6.2 inches on the outside and 7.6 inches on the inside. Both screens use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The device is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor, comes with a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging. The camera system of the device includes a 50MP main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10MP telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom.

In the Vietnamese market, the Galaxy Z Flip5 will compete directly with another foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N2 Flip. In addition, in the same price segment, the device will also compete with rivals such as the Xiaomi 13 or iPhone 14.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold5 is positioned in a completely separate segment when other technology giants such as Xiaomi, Vivo or Oppo have not yet officially launched equivalent foldable screen smartphones.
