On the morning of February 2, Hang Be market, Hang Bac ward (Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi ) was bustling with buying and selling. The market was busier than usual because today was the day to worship Ong Cong and Ong Tao.

This is considered a "rich people's market" located in the middle of Hanoi's Old Quarter, selling all kinds of fresh, pre-cooked food and ready-made offerings at high prices.

Although the prices are expensive compared to other markets in Hanoi, this place is always popular with Hanoians and is crowded with customers, especially during holidays and Tet, especially on the day of worshiping Ong Cong and Ong Tao.

According to the reporter, many people were present early to choose items such as votive paper, fruits, red carp, fairy-wing chicken... These stores have been preparing chicken offerings and sticky rice offerings since early morning for customers to order. Notably, fairy-wing chicken (boiled chicken with rose in its mouth) is the most popular item.

Due to the large number of customers, the staff at the stores have to work very hard to serve all the orders.

According to research, the rose-holding chickens here come in many sizes, the average price of each chicken is from 500,000 - 600,000 VND, the large ones cost from 700,000 VND to a million VND.

Sharing with the press, Ms. Hoang Dung (owner of the chicken wing restaurant) in Gia Ngu, Hang Bac ward said that since December 15, the number of customers buying chicken has increased dramatically. Especially on the occasion of the day of seeing Tao Quan off to heaven, the number of customers increased 5-7 times compared to normal days. The store had to hire 20 employees.

"Prices have not changed this year, on average a chicken costs from 500,000 to 600,000 VND. At peak times, we can sell 200 to 250 chickens per day," said Ms. Dung.

In general, prices at the market this year have not fluctuated much, only slightly increasing in some items such as fresh flowers, purchasing power has increased compared to before.

In addition to chicken, other offerings such as sticky rice cost from 60,000 to 120,000 VND/plate, roasted bird from 150,000 to 350,000 VND/bird, spring rolls cost 120,000 VND/box, mixed meatball soup costs 80,000 to 100,000 VND/bowl. Red carp of all sizes are priced from 50,000 to 70,000 VND/3 fish. However, according to fish traders, purchasing power has decreased this year.
