FPT hopes to leverage the strengths of its long-standing cooperation with Bac Giang province to further exploit the potential of the semiconductor industry. The corporation will always accompany the province in its journey to become a semiconductor city. On April 16th, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province organized a seminar on "Current Situation and Solutions for Developing Labor Resources in the Semiconductor Industry in Bac Giang Province". Mr. Tran Dang Hoa (Chairman
of FPT IS and Chairman of FPT Semiconductor), representing FPT, offered several recommendations for the locality to accelerate its development to keep pace with the semiconductor wave. Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS and Chairman of FPT Semiconductor, emphasized: "Bac Giang has a prime geographical location and the potential to become a cradle for developing semiconductor labor resources thanks to the decisiveness and readiness of its leaders to embrace new development opportunities and create conditions for working with domestic and international partners." In particular, Bac Giang is among the top provinces nationwide in the field of education, with over 1,000 national standard schools and high schools teaching using the STEM method (an educational approach that enhances skills related to four elements: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Students who excel in mathematics and study STEM will be well-suited to work in the semiconductor industry later on. Furthermore, Bac Giang's economy in the first quarter of 2024 ranked first in the country, with three large enterprises investing in the semiconductor sector and five electronic industrial clusters. "Therefore, Bac Giang has a solid foundation for developing the semiconductor industry, becoming a cradle for developing semiconductor labor for businesses and industrial parks," said Mr. Tran Dang Hoa.

Mr. Tran Dang Hoa shared this at the workshop.
According to Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Bac Giang province needs to quickly seize the opportunity to become a semiconductor city and one of the leading provinces in semiconductors. First, the province needs to prepare semiconductor chip resources to meet the needs of foreign businesses opening factories in Bac Giang, attracting domestic and foreign investors to build new semiconductor factories in the area to localize the supply chain. In addition, the province needs to develop a supply chain and warehousing center, becoming a distribution network for the region and the world due to its favorable geographical location and open policies. In conclusion, the FPT representative expressed a desire to leverage the strengths of their long-standing cooperation with Bac Giang province to further exploit the potential of the semiconductor industry. The corporation will always accompany the province in its journey to become a semiconductor city. The workshop "Current Situation and Solutions for Developing Labor Resources in the Semiconductor Industry in Bac Giang Province" was attended by leaders from the General Department of Vocational Education under
the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs ; The workshop was attended by representatives from the National Innovation Center under the Ministry of Planning and Investment; leaders of Bac Giang province; delegates from universities and colleges in Hanoi and the province; and representatives from businesses. The workshop included presentations from universities, businesses, and technology experts. The discussions focused on researching and clarifying the needs regarding the scale, structure, and characteristics of technical labor in semiconductor industry enterprises in Bac Giang province in particular, and the whole country in general, linked to the value-added chain of technology in production and technological innovation.
The workshop was attended by provincial leaders, business leaders, and representatives from universities and colleges in the region.
In his opening remarks at the workshop, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee, Mai Son, stated that Bac Giang province, with its strategic position and development potential, has been witnessing a boom in the semiconductor industry. To develop this industry, the province has identified the need to focus on building a high-quality workforce that meets market and technological demands. Simultaneously, it emphasizes strengthening cooperation between training institutions, businesses, and researchers to create an advanced learning and research environment that accurately reflects the trends and requirements of the semiconductor industry.
