Fintech is a “golden land” full of potential but also many challenges. To help students shorten the distance from the classroom to the business, F88 pioneers to become a solid “launching pad”, providing opportunities for internships, in-depth training and connections with “big guys” in the industry.
In the booming wave of financial technology (Fintech) in Vietnam, students who love this field are increasingly looking for opportunities to turn their passion into action. In response to that need, FinSpark - an intensive internship program organized by F88 in collaboration with the Banking Academy, pioneered to become a practical bridge between the classroom and Fintech businesses.
Led by big business
As a pioneer in the field of Finance Technology in Vietnam, F88 not only plays a key role in the FinSpark program but also cooperates with many "big guys" such as OPES, VNPT Fintech, MB Bank, PVI... to expand the ecosystem to support students.
F88 is a pioneer in helping students become Digital Mavericks - people with breakthrough thinking, daring to think differently, doing differently, not afraid to break old limits to create new digital solutions in the Fintech era.
After a rigorous selection process from more than 300 applications from more than 20 universities across the country, the 35 best students officially embarked on the FinSpark 2025 journey. The program not only equips them with essential professional skills but also brings about profound changes in their perspective on the market, data and mindset of a true Fintech expert, under the guidance and close companionship of experienced mentors.

Tran Thi Nhai, a candidate participating in FinSpark, shared: “ Although I don’t have much experience, at FinSpark, I not only learn but also directly contribute to real projects. It is a valuable opportunity for me to affirm my own value.”
Nguyen Thanh Thao added: “ We learned how to look at the market through a business lens, how to use data to make decisions. And most importantly, we learned how to really work as a Fintecher.”
Why do students need a “launch pad” like FinSpark?
Fintech is growing strongly globally, especially in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, with the explosion of technologies such as Blockchain, financial AI and DeFi. Along with that, opportunities for innovation are increasingly expanding, attracting a large number of young people to participate in this field. However, new graduates still face many barriers when starting a career in the industry.
For new graduates, the path to entering the industry is not easy. Many students, even though they have graduated from related majors, still face difficulties when starting their careers, the main reason is the gap between academic knowledge and practical work.
Nguyen Duc Binh, a student majoring in Finance and Technology, shared: “When I was still in school, I was very excited about Fintech-related subjects, but when I started looking for a job, I realized that what I learned in class was just a very small foundation. Technology changes constantly, new tools require a lot of self-study.”
Nguyen Thanh Thao also frankly admitted: “If there was no FinSpark, and no hands-on experience in projects at F88, I think we would still be struggling to learn theory and... waiting for the opportunity to come. But Fintech doesn't wait for anyone.”
In addition, many new graduates face a dual challenge: lack of practical experience, limited professional network, and lack of real mentors. They crave close companionship from experts who can guide them from the beginning to the completion of real projects.
Vu Hai Minh, a FinSpark intern, shared: “Before coming to FinSpark, I interned at a bank. But honestly, it was only when I joined FinSpark and worked at F88 that I understood how a Fintech company really operates.”
F88 CEO Phung Anh Tuan also emphasized: “Fintech is not a playground for passive people. If you do not continuously learn and engage, you will be left behind very quickly.”
By participating in FinSpark, students not only learn, but also embark on a journey of transformation, from learner to practitioner, from theory to practice. With comprehensive learning and practice opportunities, FinSpark is the key to helping students not only understand Fintech, but also be ready to master the game in this potential field.

With the support of “launching pads” like FinSpark, Vietnamese students can confidently conquer the potential Fintech industry. The important thing is that you need to equip yourself with solid knowledge, practical skills and a spirit of continuous learning. Make the most of the opportunities to turn your passion into reality and contribute to the development of the Vietnamese Fintech industry.
