ANTD.VN - Eximbank is asking the authorities to assist in verifying and clarifying the motive for spreading information of unknown origin and unverified information related to the relocation of the Bank's headquarters.
Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) said that on October 24, the bank received information about a number of documents circulating on social networks and appearing in the press related to the Bank's activities regarding the policy of moving headquarters; granting credit to customers... Accompanied by comments and interpretations of a subjective and prejudicial nature.
“This information has caused public confusion, affected the psychology of investors and customers, and infringed on the rights of the Bank’s shareholders. In particular, it has seriously affected the image, brand, and reputation of Eximbank,” Eximbank said.
Eximbank recommends that shareholders, investors, customers, partners, etc. be cautious with information of unknown origin and unverified nature, which is subjective and speculative in nature, related to the Bank's activities.

Regarding Eximbank's extraordinary shareholders' meeting scheduled to take place in November 2024, the Bank said that all documents of the shareholders' meeting will be published according to regulations, including details of the Board of Directors' proposal to the shareholders' meeting for consideration of the relocation of the Bank's headquarters due to necessary reasons arising from the Bank's internal operations.
“The relocation of the headquarters will be discussed publicly and transparently at the General Meeting of Shareholders and will only be approved if it receives approval from over 51% of the total votes of the shareholders attending the meeting. The dossier for relocation of the headquarters must also be considered and approved by the State Bank of Vietnam according to regulations,” Eximbank said.
According to the bank's representative, the act of spreading information of unknown origin and unverified information from Eximbank will seriously affect the Bank's operations, reputation as well as directly affect the interests of the Bank's shareholders and related parties.
“Currently, Eximbank is requesting the authorities to support the verification and clarification of the motive for the dissemination of this document in order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the bank, customers, shareholders and partners,” the bank stated.
As planned, on November 28, Eximbank will hold an extraordinary shareholders' meeting to approve the change of headquarters location and other matters under its authority. This meeting, Eximbank convenes in Hanoi, while its headquarters is in Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, at this year's annual general meeting of shareholders, the Bank had planned to move its headquarters from the 8th floor of Vincom Center building, 72 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Nghe ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City to the office building (Fideco Center) at 28 Phung Khac Khoan, Da Kao ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. However, this proposal was not approved by the general meeting of shareholders.
