The Hanoi People's Committee has issued Decision No. 1412/QD-UBND approving the investment policy and approving the investor, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), to implement the Long Bien - Mai Dong 220 kV transmission line project.
The project aims to improve the power supply capacity for Hanoi city, increase safety, operational flexibility and stability for the National Power System and reduce power loss on the grid.
The project will build a 2-circuit underground cable line, approximately 14.3 km long, and a 2-circuit overhead line, approximately 1 km long, to cross the Red River.
The project also expands the 220 kV bay at the 220 kV Long Bien transformer station: installs equipment for 02 bays of the line going to the 220 kV Mai Dong transformer station on the reserved land within the station fence; expands the 220 kV bay at the 220 kV Mai Dong transformer station: installs equipment for 02 bays of the line going to the 220 kV Long Bien transformer station on the reserved land within the station fence.
The power line runs under the roads of Mai Chi Tho, Hoi Xa, National Highway 1, Linh Nam, Vinh Hoang temporary road in Long Bien, Hoang Mai and Gia Lam districts, Hanoi. The power line runs in the air in Hoang Mai and Gia Lam districts.
The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
The investor is fully responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information, data, and documents submitted with the investment project dossier requesting approval of the investment policy and approval of the investor.
Comply with the provisions of the law on land, investment, construction, management, use of state capital invested in production and business at enterprises, planning, electricity, environmental protection and documents related to the project, and regulations of the City. The project may only be implemented after completing procedures on land, environment, traffic, planning and construction according to current regulations.

Implement appropriate construction measures to ensure safety for adjacent structures and other structures that may be affected. Implement and fully absorb the notes and comments of the departments, branches, People's Committees of Long Bien, Hoang Mai, and Gia Lam districts during the project implementation process. Strictly implement the supervision and reporting regime, investment supervision according to the investment laws and other current regulations of the State and the City. Do not transfer the investment project to another unit for implementation without the approval of the competent authority.
Departments and branches: Finance, Planning - Architecture, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, Science and Technology; Hanoi Capital Command, Hanoi City Police; Tax Department of Region I; People's Committees of Long Bien, Hoang Mai, Gia Lam District People's Committees, based on their functions and tasks, inspect, guide, and resolve the next implementation procedures of the project for investors according to current regulations of the State and Hanoi City; implement the supervision content of specialized state management agencies according to regulations.
