EVNHANOI increases human resources to handle incidents after storm No. 3

Given the complex developments of Typhoon No. 3, EVNHANOI proactively planned its response early on, increasing manpower and supplies to promptly handle any incidents.

EVNHANOI prioritized restoring power to key pumping stations in vulnerable areas quickly after the storm passed, ensuring efficient water drainage and minimizing damage caused by flooding.

Many areas in Hanoi were severely affected by fallen trees and damaged factory roofs. As a result, the power grid also suffered damage due to fallen trees and debris flying into power lines and substations.

Throughout the duration of Typhoon No. 3, EVNHANOI urgently implemented response plans, focusing on repairing damaged power lines, substations, and electrical equipment.

Thousands of officials and employees from units under EVNHANOI immediately arrived at the scene, focusing on repairing and mitigating the consequences of the natural disaster.

In the early morning of September 10, 2024, heavy rains in Van Binh commune, Thuong Tin district, caused the area to be submerged in water. Consequently, the 110kV Thuong Tin substation was completely isolated, with water rising rapidly and reaching depths of over 1 meter.

In response to this situation, to ensure safety, EVNHANOI implemented emergency response plans, isolating the substation from operation.

The emergency response team deployed measures to prevent short circuits from occurring at the station, ensuring the operation of the diesel pumping system…

Immediately after the 110kV Thuong Tin substation ceased operation due to severe flooding, EVNHANOI switched on 9 medium-voltage power lines supplied from nearby substations such as Tia, Ngoc Hoi, and Van Dien to basically ensure electricity supply in the area.

Emergency response teams are working urgently to repair the damage caused by the flooding in order to restore power as soon as the water recedes.

In the coming days, with the forecast indicating that the remnants of Typhoon No. 3 will continue to cause heavy rain and flooding, EVNHANOI will continue to maintain on-site personnel on standby and strengthen rapid response teams ready to repair the power grid as quickly as possible to ensure the production and daily life of people in Hanoi.
