At a working session with the Electricity Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ), the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company (NSMO) on coordinating the operation of the 2025 dry season and ensuring electricity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) Ngo Son Hai said that, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVN has requested units to prepare plans and solutions to ensure electricity supply for the holidays of April 30 - May 1.
Accordingly, EVN has assigned specific tasks to Power Generation Corporations, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and Distribution Corporations.
Specifically, Power Generation Corporations are required to fully prepare fuel, materials, and spare equipment to ensure the highest availability for generators.
EVNNPT has established steering committees of the Corporation and units, established plans to ensure electricity and coordinated with dispatching units to ensure operations; inspected key route sections, thoroughly handled risks of corridor violations, and ensured the highest availability for power lines and transformer stations.
Power corporations and power companies are assigned to coordinate with the authorities to review event venues, plan for 24/7 power supply, and prevent power outages in key areas such as Party and State headquarters, festival venues, and cultural and artistic activities.
In addition, EVN requests that units proactively coordinate with the dispatching unit in performing their tasks.
In cities hosting major events such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, where activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) are taking place, the Electricity sector has developed a priority power supply plan, on duty 24/7, closely coordinating with localities, the army and the police to ensure absolute safety.
According to the NSMO representative, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, heat waves may appear in the South, but the level is not severe. In the North and Central regions, heat waves are not forecasted to appear. The average load nationwide during the holidays is expected to be about 65-75% compared to the average consumption level during working days.
The principles of planning the power system operation on April 30 and May 1 are strictly, scientifically and flexibly ensured, with reasonable arrangements for power source operation to ensure safety and reliability under normal conditions and flexible conversion in abnormal situations, balancing power sources in all regions.
During the inspection of some key power supply points serving the festival in Ho Chi Minh City and working with the Ho Chi Minh City Power System Control Center and Saigon Power Company (PC Saigon), Deputy General Director Ngo Son Hai highly appreciated the preparation of power supply for the April 30th festival of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) in general and PC Saigon in particular.
Emphasizing that the ceremony is a particularly important political event of the country, the Deputy General Director of EVN requested that EVNHCMC thoroughly inform all relevant affiliated units, absolutely not allowing any mistakes to occur in the process of ensuring electricity.

In fact, EVNHCMC has fully prepared 220kV power supplies, power supplies from separate 110kV stations, medium voltage grid with 3-4 power supplies, in addition to diesel power and backup UPS.
EVN leaders also noted that, from experience in providing electricity for major political events in the country, all preparations, rehearsals, and inspections must still be carefully reviewed and cannot be subjective.
At the same time, it is required that the power supply for the event must be closely coordinated with the event organizers; including the power management departments of the event organizers, to avoid overlapping tasks and when an incident occurs, it must be handled in the safest way possible.
