DNVN - Ericsson and Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) have officially partnered to deploy 5G technology, marking a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two companies and reinforcing their commitment to building a robust digital infrastructure in Vietnam.
According to the cooperation agreement between the two parties, Ericsson will deploy wireless equipment products with modern, advanced technology, lightweight and energy-efficient to ensure the best mobile service quality and optimize the network performance of VNPT.
The 5G service between Ericsson and VNPT will initially be deployed in several major provinces and cities in Vietnam, where there is a high density of VNPT mobile subscribers, and in areas with developed tourism and business/industrial sectors.
5G technology will facilitate the development of many new applications and services.
The deployment of 5G is a crucial part of VNPT's strategy to provide high-quality data services, enabling faster, more reliable connections and meeting the growing needs of customers. 5G technology will facilitate the development of many new applications and services, from high-speed bandwidth to the Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity; digitizing business operations in various industries, thereby promoting Vietnam's socio -economic development.
VNPT's General Director, Mr. Huynh Quang Liem, stated: "The cooperation with Ericsson will help VNPT rapidly deploy a 5G mobile network with the highest quality, meeting the growing needs of customers in Vietnam. 5G will be a foundation for promoting economic development, thereby helping Vietnam accelerate its transformation into a digital economy."
Ericsson Vietnam's President and CEO, Rita Mokbel, stated: “5G is a key element in digital transformation and economic growth. Our collaboration with VNPT marks an important step in delivering a modern and superior connectivity solution. We aim to support VNPT in quickly providing high-speed, stable, and flexible 5G bandwidth services.”
Ericsson is currently a global leader in the 5G field and is recognized as one of the leading companies in 5G technology, according to a report by Frost Radar.
