On the afternoon of November 6, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced that coach Troussier had called up central defender Bui Tien Dung to the Vietnam national team, replacing Do Duy Manh.

At the same time, Hanoi FC explained the reason why Duy Manh was forced to leave the team. Accordingly, the player born in 1996 unfortunately suffered an injury while participating in traffic on a motorbike.
Hanoi Club announced: "Yesterday evening (November 5), player Do Duy Manh unfortunately suffered an injury while participating in traffic on a motorbike.
At that time, a motorbike going in the opposite direction collided strongly with player Do Duy Manh's car, causing the player to bleed from the instep of his foot and had to be taken to the hospital to have the wound stitched.
According to information from the medical department, Do Duy Manh needs at least 2 weeks to heal his injury before returning to training."
Not only did Duy Manh miss the appointment with the Vietnamese team, he also could not be in the Hanoi FC squad to participate in the match against Wuhan Three Towns in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2023/24 at My Dinh Stadium on November 8.
This is a big loss for Hanoi FC in the context that they are facing many difficulties after losing all 5 matches this season (2 matches in V-League, 3 matches in AFC Champions League).
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese team will have a week of training before reducing the list from 28 to 23 people, before moving to the Philippines on November 13.
On November 16, the Vietnamese team will face the Philippines at the Rizal Memorial artificial turf field. This is considered a big disadvantage for the Vietnamese team. Coach Troussier's players are used to playing on natural grass and have to adapt to the new playing conditions within just a few days.
Five days later, Coach Troussier's team will host Iraq at My Dinh Stadium in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
