On the morning of November 25, Mr. Le Huy Phuong - principal of Tra Don Primary Boarding School - sent Tuoi Tre Online some pictures of the road in village 2, Tra Don commune leading to Ong Phung school, which was collapsed and broken into pieces, very dangerous.

According to Mr. Phuong, the images of the landslide on this road were taken by a teacher of the school who was teaching at the school on Ong Phung peak.

This landslide has been going on for two days now, making it very difficult for people in village 2 to travel. Currently, due to the landslide, this road is cut off and vehicles cannot pass through.

In village 2, there is Ong Phung school with 36 primary and preschool students and 3 teachers. In addition, this village also has a school on Ong Deo peak.

Mr. Phuong said the school has notified students and teachers that if they see signs of danger, they should stay home from school and move to a safe place.

In the mountainous district of Nam Tra My, there are 4 landslides including the road to Ong Deo village, hamlet 2, Tra Don commune, which has landslides, subsidence, and severe damage, and the DH3 road where rocks and soil have collapsed onto the road.

In addition, DH6 road had a landslide at one point on the negative slope in village 1, Tra Don commune, the soil eroded on the negative slope, creating a frog jaw under the concrete roadbed, and DH9 road, village 3, Tra Mai commune, had a landslide on the negative slope.

In Bac Tra My district, heavy rains in recent days have caused many landslides, specifically 15 large and small landslides, of which Tra Kot commune has 4 landslides. Currently, local authorities are making efforts to overcome them and ensure safety for people traveling through.

According to the bulletin of the Quang Nam Province Hydrometeorological Station, from the evening of November 21 to this morning, many places had very large total rainfall such as Tra Don commune (Nam Tra My district) 713mm, Phuoc Hiep commune (Phuoc Son district) 540mm, Tra My town (Bac Tra My district) 789mm.

Urgent evacuation of hundreds of people from areas at risk of landslides

On November 25, the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district (Quang Nam) said that due to the impact of heavy rain in recent days, communes in the district have experienced heavy to very heavy rain over a wide area, with many places at risk of landslides threatening people's lives.

To proactively ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the district mobilized forces to evacuate people last night, with 133 households and 488 people in 8 communes and towns at risk, to safety.
