Most roads are clear, traffic flows smoothly on the first day people return to work after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
On the morning of February 3 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), according to the schedule, people will end their Tet holiday and return to work. However, according to records during rush hour this morning, the central routes of Ho Chi Minh City such as Hanoi Highway, Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Van Troi, Pham Van Dong, Truong Chinh... are quite deserted, without the usual traffic jams at the beginning of the week.
On Hanoi Highway, usually during Monday rush hour, the road is always full of vehicles. This morning, the street was clear in both directions.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tan (living in Thu Duc City) said that this morning he went to work in the cool air, the roads were spacious and airy. "Maybe many people are staying in their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families, not returning to the city; maybe many companies chose a good day to open, so on the 6th day of Tet, the streets were still deserted. I was so surprised when I drove to work, the city roads are always like this, there is nothing better", said Mr. Tan.
In the photo, Cach Mang Thang Tam Street is deserted, with little traffic even though this is a busy and congested street on normal days.
Very few vehicles wait at the red light at the intersection of Cach Mang Thang Tam - Hoang Van Thu - Truong Chinh.
Similarly, on Truong Chinh Street, people move very comfortably.
On Cong Hoa Street (Hoang Hoa Tham overpass section, Tan Binh District), both the top and bottom of the overpass are clear during rush hour.
"Going to work on the first day of the year with such clear air, I hope the whole year will be smooth", Ms. Minh Ha (living in Tan Binh district) happily shared. In the photo, the Lang Cha Ca overpass area (Tan Binh district), the traffic is light, people move smoothly.
On the streets in the center of Ho Chi Minh City such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Dinh Tien Hoang... this morning, it was also very clear. Except for stopping at intersections to wait for red lights, most people moved quickly.
This morning, Saigon train station was also very quiet, without the crowded scene of people getting off the train like yesterday.
At metro stations, the number of passengers has also decreased significantly. In the photo, Ben Thanh station is deserted, with only a few dozen people coming to buy tickets and get off the train.
Passengers on the metro trains decreased sharply compared to yesterday.
Meanwhile, at Tan Son Nhat airport, the number of passengers passing through the airport is still increasing sharply, people from provinces and cities with cumbersome luggage have started returning to Ho Chi Minh City to study and work after the Tet holiday.
According to Tan Son Nhat Airport Operations Center, on the 6th day of Tet, the airport served 968 flights. Of which, there were 481 departure flights (338 domestic departure flights, 140 international departure flights); 487 arrival flights (343 domestic arrival flights, 144 international arrival flights). The total number of passengers served was 146,470.
During peak days, Tan Son Nhat Airport increases the number of staff coordinating and supporting passengers at the terminal and parking areas; encourages passengers to book technology cars or use public transport in advance to avoid long waiting times, carefully check flight information, landing times and choose reasonable travel times to avoid congestion...
