The Me Pu - Da Kai route connecting National Highway 20 is being urgently constructed, opening the entire route to traffic before Lunar New Year, many months ahead of schedule.

After opening to traffic, this is the shortest route for people from Duc Linh and Tanh Linh districts ( Binh Thuan province) to Tan Phu district (Dong Nai province), and from National Highway 20 to Da Huoai district (Lam Dong province).

In early December, from the DT717 intersection (Da Kai commune) to the end of the route, many sections have been completely paved.

According to the reporter's records, at the construction site of the two bridges Da Kai 1 and Da Kai 2, many groups of workers are busy completing the construction of the upper bridge structure. Road rollers and dump trucks are busily transporting construction materials to the two ends of the bridge.

Engineer Ngo Xuan Hung, a technical officer, said that the dry weather has allowed construction teams to speed up their work to reach the finish line soon.

Currently, the Da Kai 2 bridge has completed the abutments and piers. It is expected that by mid-December, the bridge girders will be installed and the bridge and approach roads will be completed.

"The construction teams are working continuously in the spirit of 3 shifts, 4 crews to soon connect the entire route in early January 2025.

People can travel conveniently, and workers can return home to celebrate Tet with their families after many days away from home," said engineer Hung.

According to Mr. Tran Van Tan, the officer in charge of the project (Viet Hoa Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company - the contractor), the unit has paved the road surface for nearly 13.5/14.5km to the border of Dong Nai province.

The signs and drainage system have been completed. There are about 1km of two bridges and access roads under construction.

"The contractor is mobilizing maximum construction manpower to open the road. The entire route is expected to open in mid-January 2025, many months ahead of the contract schedule," said engineer Tan.

The route connecting the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Dong Nai has been upgraded and expanded to facilitate people's travel and trade of goods.

According to the Binh Thuan Provincial Traffic Project Management Board (investor), the project started construction at the end of November 2023. To date, the construction volume has reached about 96%.

According to the investor representative, the advantage of the project is that the site clearance work was carried out quickly, and people along the road unanimously supported the handover of the site.

Therefore, after the groundbreaking date, the contractor has a clean site to start construction immediately, taking the initiative in time and construction progress.

"According to the plan, the project will be completed and officially put into operation in April 2025, 7 months ahead of schedule compared to the signed contract," said the investor representative.

The investment project to upgrade and expand Me Pu - Da Kai road is about 14.5km long. The roadbed width is 9m, the road surface width is 8m, and the sidewalk width on each side is 0.5m.

On the route, two reinforced concrete bridges will be rebuilt: Da Kai 1 at Km 7+700 and Da Kai 2 at Km 8+510 with a bridge width of 12m. The total investment capital is more than 132 billion VND.

Contract completion date is end of November 2025.
