Ranked 11th in the world, Vietnam women's futsal team still behind Thailand

According to the rankings just announced by FIFA today (April 4), the Vietnamese women's futsal team has no change in ranking in the continent and the world .

Specifically, the Vietnamese women's futsal team ranked fourth in Asia and 11th in the world. Although they could not be promoted, with good results in the qualifying round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship in Myanmar earlier this year, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team accumulated an additional 15.32 points.

Meanwhile, the Thai women's futsal team not only continued to maintain its number one position in Asia but also surpassed Colombia to rise to number 5 in the world.

But the biggest improvement on the rankings is the Indonesian women's futsal team, jumping 7 places to 17th place, continuing to rank 5th in Asia.

The Vietnamese women's futsal team is currently gathering at District 8 Stadium (HCMC) to prepare for the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship taking place in May in China.

This is also the tournament that determines Asia's four tickets to the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup, held for the first time in the Philippines.

In the final round, the Vietnamese women's futsal team in Group B will meet Hong Kong (May 7), the Philippines (May 9) and Iran (May 11).

Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said he has carefully studied the playing styles of the Philippines and Hong Kong after recent matches, and will come up with specific countermeasures.

For Iran (ranked 9th in the world) - the opponent that the Vietnamese women's futsal team drew 2-2 with in the International Friendly Tournament in China last year, the coaching staff also analyzed Iran's tactics and built a plan to prepare for the final round, with the goal of achieving the best results.
