On August 12th, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province issued Document No. 5590/UBND-VXNV agreeing to adjust some contents in Plan No. 444/KH-UBND dated June 27th of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province.
Specifically, this province will not be organizing the first Miss Viet Bac – Bac Kan 2024 beauty contest.

Accordingly, from June until now, the provinces in the Viet Bac region have continuously experienced natural disasters, including heavy rains and flash floods, causing many deaths and significant property damage. In Bac Kan, African swine fever has swept across a wide area, causing enormous losses to the vast majority of small-scale pig farmers.
These losses have led to the conclusion that organizing the first "Miss Viet Bac" beauty contest at this time is inappropriate.
Given this situation, in order to allow provinces to focus their efforts on preventing, combating, and mitigating the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province has decided not to organize the first "Viet Bac Beauty Queen" contest as planned.
Previously, the provinces of the Viet Bac region, including Cao Bang , Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, and Ha Giang, had agreed to organize the "Through the Heritage Regions of Viet Bac" program in 2024 on a regional scale, in conjunction with several activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bac Kan province (August 24, 1949 - August 24, 2024).
According to the plan, for the first time, the provinces will coordinate to organize the first "Viet Bac Beauty Queen" contest, hoping to create a highlight and a unique mark for the "Through the Heritage Regions of Viet Bac" program in 2024 and subsequent years.
