What exactly happened? What impact does it have on the Mui Ne tourism brand?... We posed these questions and received feedback from several companies specializing in weekend tours: some resorts refuse to accept groups booking only one night on Friday or Saturday. They only sell rooms if guests book both nights of the weekend. This ruins the plans of these groups because they only have time for one night and two days.
Immediately after the above information emerged, Mr. Tran Van Binh, Vice Chairman of the Binh Thuan Tourism Association, explained that the incident of some tourist establishments refusing guests for one weekend night was true. However, this was only a very small number, not representative of the Binh Thuan tourism industry, nor representative of the Mui Ne brand. Mr. Binh himself, the owner of a 3-star resort, said: "It's good enough if guests come, even for one night."
Meanwhile, Le Ngoc Ha, Vice Chairman of the Binh Thuan Tourism Association and also the investor of a large resort in Binh Thuan, analyzed the phenomenon as a long-standing business tactic, present in many places, not just Mui Ne. However, he shared with us, "with this type of business – applied to Mui Ne in the current competitive context – it will inevitably fail."
"A rotten apple spoils the barrel" is unacceptable, especially after the pandemic. All tourism establishments must upgrade their services, offering more and better services to tourists, not just on weekends or for one or two nights. Mui Ne - Binh Thuan tourism has recently benefited from the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway bringing in a significant number of "one-night" visitors, thanks to the extremely convenient travel conditions. This is a positive sign for Mui Ne that should be cherished and preserved. Regardless of who the visitors are or how many nights they stay, we shouldn't refuse them for short-term gain.
