In addition, the VFF Medical Department also conducts additional random or designated health checks on players to screen for risks of injury, cardiovascular disease, or detect abnormal indicators... This process is carried out by doctors from the VFF Medical Department and the club's doctors to obtain more detailed information such as: player health, functional foods, and drinks being used at the club.
According to the regulations on doping tests and additional health checks for players issued by VFF with Decision No. 569/QD-LĐBĐVN dated August 19, 2024, players who violate doping test regulations; players who intentionally do not perform or do not cooperate in performing; players whose test samples detect drugs or addictive substances will be handled for violations and managed according to the provisions of the Law on Drug Prevention; and will also be subject to additional disciplinary action according to the VFF's Disciplinary Decision.
The entire process of doping testing and additional health checks complies with FIFA regulations, the World Anti-Doping Organization and Vietnamese law regulations related to doping prevention in sports activities, regulations on health checks for athletes, and regulations on drug and substance prevention.

The working group has 8 staff members, including 3 members of the VFF Medical Board, 3 members of the Institute of Criminal Science - Ministry of Public Security, and 2 staff members of VPF. We have assigned specific tasks to each member to ensure that the work is carried out according to plan. The doping control and additional health check activities aim to ensure a doping-free football environment and health safety for players."
In the 2023-2024 season, due to drug use, 5 players of Ha Tinh Club were prosecuted and sentenced to prison. This painful lesson will always be relevant to Vietnamese football. Along with the drastic actions of VFF, VPF and the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnamese football environment will become clean.
