Opportunity to study and get paid at the same time
Mr. Matthias Kaiser, CEO of Avestos Group (a unit specializing in training, consulting and supporting in the field of vocational education in Germany), said that Germany is experiencing a human resource crisis, a serious shortage of human resources, and a rapidly aging population. Therefore, in recent years, Germany has had to seek human resources in other countries, including Vietnam.
Mr. Matthias Kaiser gave this information at the signing ceremony of cooperation in the field of training, organizing exams and granting German language proficiency certificates (TELC) between Vien Dong College, Viet Duc Study Abroad Language Center and Devis Joint Stock Company on the afternoon of April 4.
"In Germany, the field with the most serious shortage of human resources is nursing. In addition, a number of other industries are also in need of human resources such as cooking, hotel restaurants, automotive technology...", Mr. Matthias Kaiser added.
In a discussion on human resources in Germany in early 2025, Dr. Holger Korte, Chairman of VIDACTA Group (specializing in consulting and introducing jobs in the education sector in Germany), said that in the nursing sector alone, Germany is lacking 50,000 workers, while the industry's salary increases steadily every year.

Sharing about the situation of students studying and working in Germany, Ms. Phan Thi Le Thu, Vice Principal of Far East College, said that hundreds of students of the school have gone to Germany to study and work in the fields of nursing, technology - engineering, beauty care, hotels and restaurants...
There are currently study and work programs in Germany such as: 1+3 program for high school graduates who wish to go to Germany for vocational training. 3+1 program for students who have graduated from secondary/college or university in nursing.
Since 2019, the school has cooperated with Knappschaft Group (Germany) to train 2+2 in nursing. Accordingly, students will study in Vietnam for the first 2 years, then go to Germany for free study and work with a salary for the next 2 years. Each month, students will receive support from 1,000 - 1,500 euros. After graduation, the salary is from 2,500 - 3,500 euros.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Cuong, Principal of Lilama 2 International Technology College, said that in order to meet the needs of German enterprises, the school currently has 7 majors trained according to German standards, including: CNC metal cutting, mechatronics, industrial electronics, construction mechanics, mechanical equipment manufacturing, mechanical equipment installation, welding technology. Recently, the school has cooperated with GIZ to send many students to Germany to work with salaries ranging from 2,800-3,200 euros/month.
Foreign language is the 'key' to open the door to Germany
Mr. Matthias Kaiser believes that between skills and language, language (German) is still the most important factor for international students. German is like a “key” that opens the door for them to come to Germany, helping them to succeed in this country.
"You must be able to communicate with colleagues, listen and understand. If you do not have good German skills, you will not have the opportunity to work and settle down," said Matthias Kaiser.
Mr. Nguyen Dac Hoan, Director of Devis Joint Stock Company (a unit authorized by the Ministry of Education and Training to jointly organize exams and issue TELC German certificates), said that many people, even with a B1 German certificate, face many obstacles when going to Germany because they cannot communicate. Therefore, it is necessary to learn German fully before going to Germany to study and work.
According to Mr. Matthias Kaiser, there are 4 German language certificates recognized when studying and working in Germany: TELC, Goethe, OSD, ECL. Of which, TELC (The European Language Certificates) is the certificate recognized and commonly used at universities, businesses, and organizations.
“Last year, taking the TELC exam would have been difficult and expensive because of the long distance travel. We have worked with the Vietnamese education sector to “untangle” the TELC exam organization process in Vietnam,” said Matthias Kaiser.
Up to now, the Ministry of Education and Training has approved the joint organization of exams and granting TELC German certificates for more than 10 units in Vietnam such as: Trabi Company, Devis Company, SHD Education, BLA Group, EUES Academy,...
Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Principal of Vien Dong College, said that the unit has just signed a cooperation agreement on training, organizing exams and granting TELC German certificates with the Vietnam-Germany Study Abroad Language Center and Devis Joint Stock Company. "The signing of a cooperation agreement on German training and TELC exam organization at Vien Dong College and the Vietnam-Germany Study Abroad Language Center will help students easily access the TELC exam right in Ho Chi Minh City without having to travel far, saving costs," Mr. Hai shared.
