(Dan Tri) - Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed that if Germany really wants to cooperate with Vietnam, he is committed to ensuring the provision of enough high-quality human resources to meet the work requirements of the partner.
Germany always opens its doors to welcome Vietnamese workers.
This is one of the contents discussed at the working session between Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Mr. Boris Rhein, Prime Minister of Hesse State (Germany), on November 28.
Welcoming Hesse State President Boris Rhein from Germany to visit Vietnam, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung recalled the important milestone from the visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier earlier this year.

Notably, during that visit, the President only brought along one Minister, the German Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
"During the visit to Vietnam by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, the leaders of the two countries only signed a single memorandum of understanding (MOU). That is the cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in the field of labor and employment.
This is a special event, marking a remarkable development in the cooperative relationship between the two countries," said Minister Dao Ngoc Dung.
Thanking the warm welcome from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Minister Dao Ngoc Dung personally, Mr. Hesse Boris Rhein said that during this visit, the state of Hesse not only wants to further strengthen the existing relationship, but also wants to explore new long-term cooperation opportunities that are beneficial to both sides.
The Hesse State Prime Minister mentioned a number of important issues related to the recruitment of foreign workers to Germany for work and vocational training. He really wants to welcome many young Vietnamese people to study and work in the handicraft and industrial sectors to solve the shortage of human resources.
In addition, hospitals in Frankfurt also expressed their desire to cooperate with Vietnam in the medical field, in order to supplement human resources for the health care industry.
Upon receiving the information, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung immediately asked the Prime Minister of Hesse state to clearly state the number of workers and occupations that Germany needs, along with specific selection criteria.
He also requested clarification of the selection criteria so that the two sides can discuss and coordinate to implement the next steps in labor cooperation and vocational training.

Thanking Minister Dao Ngoc Dung for his attention, Mr. Boris Rhein highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between the state of Hessen and Vietnam, especially with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. He said that during this visit, the Hessen state delegation had the participation of many high-ranking officials, which demonstrated the state's special respect for Vietnam.
Mr. Boris Rhein summarized that most industries in Hessen are lacking labor, from the pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, automobile manufacturing, to the Frankfurt airport area, which is facing a serious shortage of human resources.
"The field of labor demand is very broad, not only those who come to Germany to study at university, but also those who come to study a trade. We have a very effective vocational training system and are always ready to welcome young Vietnamese people to study a trade," Mr. Boris Rhein emphasized.
Vietnamese workers will meet the criteria from Germany.
In response, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized that the state of Hessen has great strengths in vocational education, especially in experience and dual training models. He shared that he had been to the Hessen State Institute of Technology and sent many Vietnamese teachers to study there.
The Minister said that Vietnam is currently paying great attention to vocational education, and Germany is a leading country in this field. Therefore, he hopes that Germany will continue to support Vietnam in expanding vocational training programs for young people.
He added that Vietnam's current population is about 104 million people and is in the "golden population" period. Therefore, improving the quality of human resources, especially high-quality human resources, is identified as one of three strategic breakthroughs. In which, vocational education plays a very important role.
The Minister also said that Vietnam currently has 1,996 colleges and vocational schools, with an annual enrollment of about 2 million students. Many schools have applied the German dual training model. He expressed his hope that the state of Hessen will sign a cooperation agreement on vocational training with Vietnam.

According to the Minister, this cooperation is not only beneficial for Vietnam but also for the state of Hessen, because after being trained in Vietnam, workers can go to work in Hessen, helping to solve the labor shortage in this state.
"When many European countries, including Germany, are facing the problem of population aging, this is Vietnam's advantage. Vietnam identifies Europe as one of the potential destinations for high-quality workers in the future," Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized.
Assessing the German labor market, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed that Vietnamese workers can fully meet the criteria and requirements set by Germany.
"Currently, many Vietnamese workers want to go to Germany to work, but cannot go because Germany's recruitment requirements are quite strict, especially language requirements. This is a big barrier for foreign workers, including Vietnamese workers," Minister Dao Ngoc Dung shared and recommended that Germany should lower its labor selection criteria.
Faced with the great need for human resources from Germany, the Minister pledged that if the friendly country truly wishes to cooperate with Vietnam, he will ensure that there are enough human resources.
He said he would select young people who had completed their military service, were in good health and had a high sense of discipline, fully meeting the requirements of their German partners.
