At the meeting, delegates watched a propaganda report celebrating the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day ; reviewed the formation and development process of Duc Co District Medical Center.
Accordingly, Duc Co District Medical Center was established in February 1992, formerly known as Infirmary 18 of Army Corps 15. When it was first established, the facilities consisted of only one row of dilapidated level 4 houses; there were more than 10 staff members, including only 1 doctor.
By 1995, Duc Co District Medical Center was newly built with 40 beds, and the medical staff also increased to 34 people.
By 2010, Duc Co District Medical Center continued to be invested in with a new construction scale of 70 beds; new modern equipment was invested such as: 3D ultrasound machine, semi-automatic biochemistry machine... Thanks to that, the medical examination and treatment work of the Center is increasingly improved.
The staff, doctors, nurses and employees total 165 positions, with 32 doctors. Of which, 84 positions are at the hospital, 21 positions are at the Preventive Medicine Department, and 60 positions are at the Health Stations of communes and towns.
Currently, the scale and quality of medical examination and treatment at the Center are increasingly improved, with an average of over 200 patients per day; the bed occupancy rate has increased by 150%...
On this occasion, the Director of Gia Lai Department of Health awarded certificates of merit to 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day; the Chairman of Duc Co District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in protecting and taking care of people's health.
