Recently, at Hung Thinh Phat Cooperative (Cho Gao district), the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang province coordinated with FADO iExport Joint Stock Company (FADO) to organize the export of the first batch of fresh coconuts officially exported to China with a scale of 3 containers and a quantity of nearly 70 tons of fresh coconuts.

According to Mr. Pham Van Trong, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, this is an important event for the locality in its trade promotion efforts to boost the official export of key fruit products to foreign markets, especially the Chinese market.

To ensure the quality and reputation of Tien Giang province's official agricultural exports as well as achieve sustainable export goals, Mr. Pham Van Trong requested all levels, sectors, enterprises, cooperatives and farmers to promote linkages along the value chain, solve product output problems associated with the application of science and technology, organic production, green agricultural production to ensure food safety, health and the environment...

Tien Giang province leaders shared that the province has a large coconut growing area in the Mekong Delta region, with a total area of more than 20,650 hectares with an annual output of about 234,000 tons of fruit and is constantly expanding.

In recent years, Tien Giang province has had many preferential mechanisms and new approaches to help promote coconut planting and processing activities in the province.

In the coming time, the locality will continue to support policies to replicate good models that bring great economic value to promote the strong development of the local coconut industry, helping farmers increase their income and businesses to produce and operate effectively, contributing greatly to the goal of turning Vietnamese coconut trees into billion-dollar export crops in the coming time.

Tien Giang fresh coconut has been successfully exported to China.

Mr. Pham Tan Dat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FADO Company, a unit associated with Hung Thinh Phat Cooperative to organize the export of the first batch of fresh coconuts to China, said that implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), up to now, Vietnam has had 15 agricultural products officially exported to the Chinese market, including fresh melons that have just been approved by China for official import from Vietnam. Previously, Vietnamese coconuts were exported to more than 15 countries around the world.

To quickly meet the purchasing needs of Chinese partners, FADO Company cooperated with Hung Thinh Phat Cooperative (Cho Gao District) to organize the export of fresh coconuts. On the other hand, the company also cooperated with Proship Joint Stock Company to build a solution for transporting fresh coconuts using new generation self-propelled refrigerated containers, ensuring stable temperature and humidity throughout the journey, ensuring the quality of exported goods.

According to Mr. Pham Tan Dat, fresh coconut for export is a product with high requirements during transportation. Coconuts must be kept in a stable cold storage at 2 - 3 degrees Celsius, humidity 30%, ventilation: 25CBM/H during the entire transportation process.

To meet the quality of the shipment, Chinese customers can monitor the temperature and humidity in the container remotely 24/7. This solution ensures that the quality of fresh coconuts when arriving in China is not reduced, contributing to improving the quality of Tien Giang agricultural products and minimizing risks in exporting official agricultural products to China.

Moreover, this is the first time fresh coconuts have been transported by rail deep into the interior of Chinese provinces by Proship Joint Stock Company.

The advantages of railway transportation are quick import and export clearance procedures, no congestion at the border gate, and more competitive transportation costs than by road. This opens up a new direction in promoting the official export of fresh agricultural products in general and fresh Tien Giang coconuts in particular in the future.
