Taking advantage of the rare sunny day before storm No. 3 Yagi hit, the young physician carried a backpack, waded through streams and forests to find and collect rare leaves still scattered on the top of Cham Chu mountain (Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quang province).
He is Pham Duc Sinh, founder of DSinh Production and Trading Joint Stock Company, and is also a famous physician in the region.
But he is also known for his strange way of examining! Since 2008, every sick child or woman who came to him was examined and given medicine completely free of charge.
Following Duc Sinh, climbing mountains and wading streams, together crossing many kilometers of mountains and hills, Sinh suddenly blurted out: "I don't like this job either."
That confession surprised many people in the group. Because the leader, who was the most enthusiastic and fastest, suddenly said that! Someone suddenly asked: "What was Sinh's motivation to stick with the mountains and forests and become a physician?"
To recap, Sinh's grandfather was once a royal physician. His father was also a famous doctor. So to Sinh, being a doctor was definitely a very noble profession.
Few people know that Sinh has an invisible fear of steep cliffs. The memory of a 5-year-old boy is that Sinh followed his father through the mountains and forests to collect medicinal herbs every day.
Those were the nights sleeping in a cave with my father but when I woke up, I opened my eyes and saw no one beside me. And the days groping through the wild and poisonous forests to pick each bunch of medicinal leaves. Somewhere there was also the fear of poverty from this very profession.
"At night, it's very cold in the mountains. I woke up and looked around, but my father had gone hunting without me knowing. The feeling of living in the cold and the fear of a child in the middle of the wild forest. And the fear of sometimes walking for 2-3 days but not finding any medicinal leaves and being so hungry made me afraid of this job," Sinh confided.
Until 2006, Sinh's father passed away after a health incident. He was forced to return home to help support the family.
Sinh had to continue managing drug rehabilitation facilities and treating HIV using traditional oriental medicine with traditional herbal remedies created by his father.
Every day, Sinh works with patients and prescriptions, with herbs that are very familiar. The profession of medicine has become a part of Sinh's life without him knowing.
"The moment I saw my patients getting better, smiling more brightly and starting to quit drugs made me incredibly happy. I realized this was the feeling I had been looking for all this time," Sinh confided.
To go in a systematic way, the electrical engineer graduated from polytechnic determined to go to school. This time to study intermediate medical, specializing in traditional medicine.
With new knowledge and lessons learned from his father, and many experiments, Pham Duc Sinh is confident in the medicine he has created to treat atopic dermatitis. Everyone thinks this medicine will help Sinh make a lot of money.
However, for 8 years, he only gave it away for free to children, women or anyone who needed it. The first medicine that could completely cure atopic dermatitis of the young physician at that time (2008) in Tuyen Quang province was as good as the news spread far and wide.
"If we count up to now, there must be a million cases that have come to me for examination and prescription," Sinh boasted.
There are many cases where people live far away and cannot travel due to difficult conditions. The doctor even drove to visit them, examined them, and gave them medicine. "Many children who took the medicine and recovered claimed to be their adoptive fathers, even though their "fathers" had never seen their children in real life," Sinh laughed.
To preserve precious medicinal herbs, Sinh bought many hills close together that had been reclaimed, cultivated and cultivated by ethnic minorities for generations to grow medicinal herbs.
The area, estimated at over 50 hectares, has become a quality raw material area, while also making the process of obtaining medicine less dangerous. It also helps Sinh have more time to focus on examining patients.
However, many herbs cannot be grown in gardens. Or they can be grown but their medicinal properties cannot be as good as when the plants grow in the natural environment.
That is why Sinh and his staff had trips to Cham Chu peak to find precious medicinal plants. The absolute principle of the herbal garden is to grow green.
There, Sinh does not allow the use of any chemical fertilizers or pesticides to be sprayed on the plants. Everything must be left to grow naturally like grass and trees in the wild Cham Chu jungle.
After 8 years of giving away, donating, and treating many people, Sinh's wallet began to run out. He had to stop providing free treatment. But if he charged, Sinh feared that his original intention of "giving" with this profession would be off track.
He thought about starting a business, why not? It was entirely possible to create a product that could support his medical practice, so he could become a "mother-like doctor" as he wished.
"I focus on my strengths, which are herbs," Sinh admitted.
Based on the features of detoxifying the liver, purifying the lungs and blood, and enhancing immune resistance, he took advantage of them to put into his product. The requirement for the product was that it must be compact, effective, safe, and benign, but the price must be as low as possible.
And DSinh herbal drink was born after a long period of research, preparation and testing. He said the product adheres to the raw materials with the main ingredients being herbs and medicinal herbs. These are wild single tree, lingzhi mushroom, wild papaya tree, sedge root, needle grass, prickly pear root… with reasonable ingredients and proportions.
What makes Sinh happiest is that the product has gone through testing stages, met strict medical measurement and inspection standards and is now available on the market.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the "golden roasting and grounding" step, which is a typical feature in traditional oriental medicine, has been resolved in this product.
"Through a long process of measurement and monitoring, the product has the effect of helping blood circulation, supporting the liver and kidneys in purifying the body," the physician smiled with satisfaction.
