Da Hen tea products meet 4-star OCOP standards to serve Lunar New Year.
Coming to the Cooperative of the craft village producing and processing Da Hen tea in Dong Luong commune these days, we will clearly feel the urgent, busy atmosphere, focusing on production to prepare goods to serve consumers during the traditional Tet holiday of the nation.
Da Hen tea village was recognized in 2010, currently the village has 80 households participating in tea production and processing. In 2021, the premium Da Hen tea product was recognized as a 4-star OCOP product. The preparation of tea products for the market on the occasion of Tet is carefully prepared by the people of Da Hen area. After being picked, the tea will be dried and then heat-processed, followed by the stages of rolling, drying, flavoring and packaging the finished product. Along with improving the quality of raw materials, Da Hen tea production and processing village has focused on innovating designs, packaging and types to meet market tastes. It is known that up to now, all products of the unit have their own designs and packaging, quite diverse with many rich products such as: Da Hen green tea, young tea buds, premium tea... Currently, Da Hen tea craft village consumes more than 1 ton of products to the market each month, bringing in revenue of 200-300 million VND, creating regular jobs for 24 workers, with an average income of 5 to 6 million VND/person/month. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of Da Hen Tea Production and Processing Village Cooperative excitedly said: "We have prepared enough goods to serve customers during Tet. In addition to traditional products, we have gift boxes for customers as suitable Tet gifts". In 2023 and 2024, Phuoc Duyen sour sausage production facility, Phuong Vi commune, will have 2 products: sour sausage and shiitake mushroom cartilage sausage, and silk sausage that meet OCOP 3-star standards. To prepare for Tet, from the first days of the 12th lunar month, the facility had to mobilize all family members, along with part-time workers, to ensure the supply of goods to serve the people. Mr. Duong Van Phuoc, the owner of the facility, shared: “Phuoc Duyen Nem Chua production facility has 2 products that meet 3-star OCOP standards, creating jobs for 7-8 regular workers and 10-12 seasonal workers. To prepare goods for Tet, we have stepped up production to prepare a full supply of goods to serve the people.”
Implementing the program "One commune one product", by the end of 2024, Cam Khe district had 30 products meeting 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards. In the days before the Lunar New Year 2025, the district organized the opening of a booth to promote, introduce and sell OCOP products for 20 days, starting from January 8, 2025 (ie December 9, Giap Thin year) to introduce and promote to the people and tourists from all over the country about typical products with potential and strengths of the locality; creating conditions for cooperatives, production and business establishments to promote, introduce and promote trade and consumption of products.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Chinh - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Cam Khe district said: "On the occasion of Tet this year, the District People's Committee issued a plan to organize the opening of a booth to promote, introduce and sell OCOP products with the aim of promoting the district's OCOP products and typical local strengths in the district".
At this time, production and business establishments of OCOP standard products in the district are actively preparing goods sources to ensure meeting consumer demand. In addition to direct sales, many establishments have flexibly promoted products on social networking sites and e-commerce platforms to create a spread and boost product consumption.
