On the afternoon of November 2, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong received a delegation from the Hungarian Supreme Procuracy led by Chief Prosecutor Peter Polt, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.
Welcoming and welcoming Chief Prosecutor Peter Polt and the delegation of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Hungary to visit and work in Vietnam, President Vo Van Thuong said that the visit took place at a very meaningful time when the two countries were celebrating the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership.
The President believes that the delegation’s visit will deepen the cooperative relationship between the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam and the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Hungary; at the same time, contribute to fostering the friendship and traditional relationship between the people of the two countries.
Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Hungary Peter Polt expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam and work with the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam; and was pleased to inform the President about the good cooperation results between the two countries' Procuracy agencies in both professional activities as well as the friendly cooperative relations between the two sides.
Hungarian President Péter Polt said that Hungarian President Katalin Novak hopes to visit Vietnam soon; at the same time, the Hungarian Government and people also look forward to welcoming President Vo Van Thuong to Hungary soon.
Mr. Péter Polt said that this visit by the Hungarian Supreme People's Procuracy as well as the exchanges of delegations at all levels between the two countries are concrete evidence of the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Chief Prosecutor of the Hungarian Supreme Court Péter Polt emphasized that the two agencies still have much potential for cooperation and will implement many measures to further improve the effectiveness of cooperation in the coming time.
Stating that Hungary is promoting its Look East policy in terms of politics, economy and law, Chief Prosecutor Péter Polt stated that the Hungarian Supreme People's Procuracy will continue to promote cooperation with the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam in enforcing the law, protecting the investment and business environment, and supporting socio-economic development in each country, especially in the context of complex developments in crimes such as money laundering, cyber security, and corruption in the world. In addition, the two agencies will actively coordinate on an international and multilateral level.
Agreeing with President Vo Van Thuong's proposal to promote cooperation in education and training, Director Peter Polt said that Hungary wishes to welcome more Vietnamese students to study in the fields of legal science and Procuracy.
Sharing his feelings about his third visit and work in the beautiful and hospitable country of Vietnam, meeting and having a close relationship with the leaders of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam, Mr. Péter Polt stated that Vietnam is not only an important partner of Hungary in many fields but also a traditional and close friend of the Hungarian people.
President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that Vietnam and Hungary have a traditional friendship and good cooperation with a history of more than 70 years. Vietnam always remembers the sentiments and great support that the Hungarian people have given to the Vietnamese people in the struggle for independence, unification and national development in recent times.
The President expressed his delight at learning that since the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership, the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Hungary has developed positively in many fields, especially in economics and trade. The two sides regularly exchange delegations, especially high-level ones.
The President said that Vietnam highly appreciated Hungary's prioritization of Vietnam in its Look East policy; he said that in the overall fields of bilateral cooperation, the cooperation between the two countries' Procuracy agencies has achieved many good results, the two agencies regularly exchange and support each other to fulfill their functions and tasks well.
In that spirit, the President suggested that relevant agencies of Vietnam and Hungary further promote cooperation, especially in economics, trade and investment, because the two countries still have much potential and room for cooperation in this field.
The President stated that Vietnam is pleased and looks forward to welcoming Hungarian President Katalin Novak to Vietnam soon. The President said he is ready to visit Hungary at an appropriate time to promote comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The President suggested that the two sides further strengthen cooperation in education, training and science and technology, as these are traditional areas of cooperation between the two countries and need to continue to be fostered in the future so that more and more Vietnamese students can study and research in Hungary.
At the same time, Vietnam hopes that more and more Hungarian students will come to Vietnam to study, especially to exchange study and research in the fields of prosecution science and legal science; and to cooperate in the field of training Vietnamese prosecutors in Hungary.
Emphasizing that Vietnam attaches special importance to building and perfecting the socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam, the President expressed his hope that the cooperation between the Vietnamese and Hungarian Procuracies will achieve more achievements in the coming time, not only at the Supreme People's Procuracy level but also at all levels of Procuracies. The two sides need to regularly exchange experiences and professional work, thereby contributing more to making the Vietnam-Hungary cooperation relationship more effective and practical in the future.
