DNVN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade has gradually turned Vietnamese Consumer Rights Day into an important driving force and highlight to support business activities of enterprises.
Following the success of activities in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2023, towards the Law on Consumer Rights Protection taking effect from July 1, the Launching Ceremony in response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2024 took place on the morning of March 15.
This year’s Vietnam Consumer Rights Day has the theme “Transparent Information - Safe Consumption” to emphasize the significance and importance of information for the safety of consumers in the process of choosing, paying for, and using goods and services. In particular, in the context of increasing fraud and violations of consumer rights, businesses need to promote responsibility in production and business activities.
Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2024 has the theme "Transparent Information - Safe Consumption".
According to the plan, activities for consumer rights are encouraged to be organized and implemented throughout 2024. In particular, focusing on peak periods of business and consumption such as New Year, Lunar New Year, shopping seasons, etc.
Response activities will be organized in March (peak month) and will last until the end of 2024, depending on the actual situation at agencies, organizations and localities. Some activities are expected to be implemented such as organizing the launching ceremony of Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2024; disseminating propaganda; issuing relevant documents and publications.
At the same time, organize seminars, training courses, thematic training courses and consumer appreciation. Organize public events for consumers or competitions to learn about legal regulations, knowledge, business skills and consumer rights protection...
The Ministry of Industry and Trade encourages the participation of State agencies, social organizations, businesses and consumers in related activities. Gradually turn Vietnam Consumer Rights Day into an important driving force and highlight in socio-economic life, supporting business activities of enterprises. Ensuring basic rights of consumers, especially the right to access information in a transparent and safe manner.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan affirmed that this is a special event as it is held at a time when the Law on Consumer Protection was just passed in June 2023 and will take effect from July 1.
“The regulation on Vietnamese Consumer Rights Day in the Law on Consumer Protection continues to affirm the role, position and importance of consumer rights protection. It creates a stronger legal basis to mobilize the interest, response and participation of the whole society in consumer rights protection,” said Mr. Tan.
Also at the launching ceremony, the Ministry of Industry and Trade awarded certificates of merit to individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in the work of developing the Law on Consumer Rights Protection 2023.
