September 19, Tuoi Tre Online note the effect of consumer Vietnam when American home appliances Tupperware announced closing. In Ho Chi Minh City, many people regret because the product brings a feeling of excitement because of its high quality and aesthetics.

"I'm so sad to hear the news. This is the brand that I like the most. The products are very good and the colors are beautiful. There are food containers for the refrigerator, freezer, and dry compartments, which is very convenient. My whole house is full of Tupperware," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Sinh (office worker, Phu Nhuan district), who admits to being a "hardcore fan" of this household appliance brand.

Similarly, Mai Anh Chi (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) said that she has a passion for cooking, so she always invests in keeping her kitchen neat and clean. When buying plastic food storage containers, Chi immediately thinks of Tupperware.

"Although the price is a bit expensive compared to other brands, it is not only durable but also very safe for health. I am used to using food containers of this brand, it is difficult to buy another brand to replace it even though it is cheap. The product is made of virgin plastic, not recycled.

It's a pity that in the near future I don't know which company can replace the branded products that are so "addictive" to users," Ms. Chi expressed.

A day after Tupperware filed for bankruptcy, many Vietnamese people went to stores to buy the last products. Some bought them as gifts for relatives, some bought them for later use without any need, some took advantage of the "sale hunting" for cheap prices...

At the Tupperware store (Tran Nhat Duat Street, Tan Dinh Ward, District 1), customers come and go continuously. Food containers are on display at very attractive discounted prices.

For example, a set of cool boxes with breathing buttons, originally priced at nearly 2.5 million VND, is now only 1.3 million VND; a 1.2-liter thermos bottle, originally priced at 1.6 million VND, is now only over 900,000 VND; a water purifier, originally priced at 18 million VND, is now only 9.5 million VND...

According to the sales staff here, the information about Tupperware's bankruptcy was not known to the staff. "I only know that we are clearing out the warehouse, there is a big discount program from August 31 to September 30. If you like our food containers, you should buy them now. Because soon there will be no more left," said the female employee.

Previously on September 17, Tupperware filed for bankruptcy protection after 78 years on the market, since 1946. Tupperware is a company specializing in manufacturing kitchen utensils, which dominates the global food storage market.

The company's "soul" product is food containers, along with other products such as water bottles, pots and pans, and water filters.

According to the information announced by the company, the reason for the closure was due to not fulfilling the agreement with creditors, continuous business losses since 2020, the company running out of cash and having many big competitors; young people do not know much about this 78-year-old brand that was once very famous.
