Among the types of tourism, green tourism is a trend that is receiving the attention of many tourists. Because this is a type of tourism associated with activities of conservation, development of resources as well as natural ecosystems in a sustainable way. Grasping that need, in recent years, the province has had many "green destinations" that bring attractive experiences to tourists.

Green tourism - an increasingly popular trend Tourists experience mountain climbing at Pu Luong Tourist Area (Ba Thuoc).

With a peaceful, poetic green space, along with fresh natural scenery, in recent years, Yen Trung Tourist Village (Yen Dinh) has become a place that attracts many tourists to visit and experience. When coming here, visitors will discover a space imbued with the identity of a Vietnamese village, with ancient houses hundreds of years old, preserved and conserved to this day. Inside the houses, there are also recreated items such as wood stoves, cupboards, stone mortars... Next, visitors will explore the clean farm, growing vegetables, tubers, fruits such as cantaloupe, cucumber... and can also experience the life of farmers through activities such as: using baskets to catch fish, fishing on boats, or participating in goat herding with the villagers and learning about the lifestyle, culture and customs of the people here. In the evening, by the flickering fire, visitors can freely immerse themselves in attractive activities such as: campfire, watching movies, dancing and singing...

As a tourist to Yen Trung Tourist Village, Ms. Mai Hoa (Thanh Hoa City) said: "Instead of going to resorts with full amenities, bustling cities, my friends and I always want to find a peaceful space for our weekend vacations. Therefore, we often go to green tourist destinations, close to nature such as: Yen Trung Tourist Village, Anh Duong Farm (Yen Dinh), Pu Luong Tourist Area (Ba Thuoc), Linh Ky Moc Eco-tourism Area (Thanh Hoa City)... When coming to these places, we all have the same feeling of returning to our childhood memories with different emotions, breathing fresh air and enjoying local specialties. More importantly, green tourism also helps to enhance our responsibility for protecting the environment and helps local people preserve their customs and practices".

In the current trend, when tourists' interest in the natural environment is increasing, the development of high-quality green tourism products will contribute significantly to creating the competitiveness and attractiveness of the destination. In addition, because the green tourism trend is increasingly attracting more tourists, investing in this type of tourism also contributes to improving the seasonal factor in tourism activities... Therefore, for many years, thanks to the development of green tourism, Pu Luong Tourist Area (Ba Thuoc) has always been a "hot" name on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world throughout the four seasons. Visitors coming here, no matter what season of the year, can experience interesting things, such as admiring the endless terraced fields, with fresh air; Participate in many activities such as walking, climbing, cycling... At night, in the quiet space, surrounded by trees, flowers and leaves, people and tourists gather together warmly around the red fire with the fragrant smell of roasted sweet potatoes and grilled corn; around the jar of wine, listening to the bustling sound of gongs, singing, cheering... making the atmosphere more joyful and bustling. It is the convergence of typical cultural features, fresh environment, unique scenery, and gentle, honest people that have created a Pu Luong that captivates people's hearts.

The trend of green tourism has become increasingly popular in recent years, sought after by many domestic and foreign tourists. Also, this type of tourism brings people a new, friendly feeling, experiencing indigenous culture, participating in activities to learn about biodiversity, exploring nature... In fact, there have been many tourist areas and spots that have been successful in attracting visitors to visit from developing green tourism, such as: Ben En National Park (Nhu Thanh), Xuan Lien Nature Reserve (Thuong Xuan), Voi Waterfall, May Waterfall (Thach Thanh), Golden Cow Farm, Luong Son Commune (Thuong Xuan), Strawberry Farm, Cam Ngoc Commune (Cam Thuy)... Along with the development of green tourism, investment in destinations from parking lots, lighting systems, public toilets, signs, signs..., especially creating a "circular circle" in waste and wastewater treatment, contributing to environmental protection has been of interest to many tourism businesses and localities. Thanks to that, it has contributed to the development results of Thanh Hoa province's tourism as it is today.

Green tourism is a type of responsible tourism associated with environmental protection activities, protecting natural elements and the culture of indigenous people. Therefore, this type of tourism is increasingly attractive to tourists and has also been identified as the main tourism product of Thanh Hoa in recent years. However, in order for green tourism products to be truly attractive, attracting tourists to explore and experience, in addition to the "necessary" condition of natural and cultural elements, the "sufficient" condition must be to improve service quality, pay attention to investing in facilities and synchronous technical infrastructure; build a civilized and friendly lifestyle, maintain environmental hygiene in tourism activities... At the same time, it is also necessary to promote the connection of green tourism destinations associated with heritage, festival relics, craft villages, cuisine, agriculture, community tourism...
