Vietnam tourism attracts attention at exhibition in Hong Kong

In order to bring tourism products and incentive programs to travel enthusiasts as well as meet the needs of residents and tourists for tourism information, on the afternoon of February 20, the Hong Kong Tourism Expo 2025 opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (China). The fair has 300 booths from many countries and regions around the world .

The Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau organized a booth to introduce and promote Vietnam's tourism potential to international friends. In addition, many travel companies also introduced tours to Da Nang, Phu Quoc....

Speaking to VNA reporters in Hong Kong, Vietnamese Consul General in Hong Kong and Macau Le Duc Hanh said that by 2024, Vietnam's tourism industry will welcome more than 17 million international visitors. Currently, there are 14 direct flights between Vietnam and Hong Kong operated by 5 airlines every day and 2 more routes are about to be put into operation.

Consul General Le Duc Hanh said that the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau participated in the event to promote Vietnamese tourism to not only more than 7 million Hong Kong people, but also to 44.5 million visitors to Hong Kong, according to 2024 data. Next is the connection between the Vietnamese and Hong Kong tourism industries because at this tourism fair, many international airlines and travel agencies are promoting destinations in Vietnam. Based on information connection and cooperation, Consul General Le Duc Hanh hopes that the Vietnamese tourism industry will have increasingly high-quality tourism products, connecting with many partner companies so that more and more tourists will come to Vietnam.

According to Consul General Le Duc Hanh, tourism and resort are also people-to-people exchange activities and enhancing exchanges is also in line with the spirit of 2025 being the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China. The two countries' senior leaders have agreed that 2025 is the Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange. Continuing to promote humanistic exchange activities between the two countries will contribute to promoting and strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Hong Kong in particular and the relationship between Vietnam and China in general.

Mr. Gordon Leung - a Hong Kong resident shared that he has traveled to Vietnam many times and clearly feels that Vietnam's economy is constantly developing. Vietnamese dishes are delicious and reasonably priced, such as beef noodle soup, transportation is also convenient, destinations such as Hanoi and Ha Long Bay have left him and his family with many beautiful memories. Mr. Gordon Leung hopes that travel companies will exploit more destinations so that Hong Kong people can visit more tourist attractions in Vietnam.

At the tourism fair, the booth of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau welcomed a large number of visitors who wanted to learn about Vietnam’s visa policy as well as the destinations they were interested in. Many visitors said they had been to Da Nang, Hoi An, Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City, etc. and had a deep impression of the scenery, cuisine and people there.

This year's tourism fair continues to provide people with diverse and high-quality tourism products, paying special attention to the needs of the elderly such as designing suitable tourism products, including attention to factors such as health and fitness, amenities...

In order to bring new surprises to all visitors, the fair has prepared a series of gifts and promotions, turning the travel fair into a festival so that visitors can feel the joy of travel before departure, which can effectively stimulate people's desire to travel and promote the exhibitors. Visitors can communicate directly with exhibitors, get the latest travel-related information and enjoy the biggest discounts. The event brings together Cathay Pacific, Cathay Holidays, KKday, Macau Government Tourism Office, Tourism Authority of Thailand, as well as many units from Japan and consulates general of some countries such as Brunei, Mongolia, Qatar, etc.

The tourism fair will last from February 20 to 23 and attracted a large number of visitors on the first day.
