Vietnam Tourism Wins Big at the "Oscar of World Tourism" Awards

Vietnam Tourism is honored to be named in 54 categories of the 30th World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania in 2023.

This is the third time Vietnam has been chosen as the venue for the World Travel Awards, with two consecutive years being held in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the Awards Ceremony on September 6, the Organizing Committee announced awards for tourism brands in the Asia and Oceania regions.

At the national level, Vietnam was honored to receive the awards “Asia’s Leading Destination 2023” and “Asia’s Leading Nature Destination 2023”. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism was honored with the title “Asia’s Leading Tourism Management Agency 2023”.

This is the fifth time Vietnam has been voted “Asia's Leading Destination”, including three consecutive wins (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023) and the second consecutive win of “Asia's Leading Natural Destination” (2022 and 2023), affirming the brand and special appeal of Vietnam Tourism.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism was honored as Asia's Leading Tourism Management Agency for the fourth time, after three times in 2017, 2021 and 2022, demonstrating the outstanding efforts of the national tourism management agency to rebuild and restore Vietnam's tourism, making Vietnam tourism a bright spot in the region and the world.

Among localities, this year, Ho Chi Minh City won the awards for “Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination 2023” and “Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination 2023”.

Hanoi capital won the awards "Asia's Leading City Destination 2023" and "Asia's Leading Short-Breakfast City Destination 2023".

Along with that, the Hanoi Department of Tourism received the title of “Asia’s Leading City Tourism Management Agency 2023” for the first time. Hoi An Ancient Town received the award of “Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination 2023”. Moc Chau won the award of “Asia’s Leading Local Natural Destination 2023” for the second time.

Phu Quoc Island won the award for “Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination 2023”. The border province of Ha Giang, the northernmost point of the country, was named “Asia’s Leading Emerging Destination 2023” for the first time. Ha Nam Province was named “Asia’s Leading Local Cultural Destination 2023” for the first time.

Along with that, many famous Vietnamese brands in the fields of hotels, resorts, airlines, travel agencies... have also won in many of the top Asian award categories of WTA 2023.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Graham Cooke - Founder and Chairman of World Travel Awards sent his best wishes to the brands that won the World Travel Awards 2023. He highly appreciated the outstanding results that the brands had achieved and affirmed that these were excellent faces of the tourism industry, their efforts have contributed to raising the standards of world tourism.

The President of World Travel Awards affirmed that Vietnam is a beautiful country with a rich cultural identity, many heritages recognized by UNESCO, a favorite destination for tourists from all over the world. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City is an attractive destination with a blend of historical and modern beauty, along with friendly and hospitable people.

Mr. Graham Cooke highly appreciated the Vietnamese tourism industry in the first 8 months of the year for reaching the target of welcoming international tourists for the whole year of 2023.

Vietnam's new visa policy creates favorable conditions for international tourists to visit and travel, demonstrating the Government's close attention and strong direction, and is expected to bring positive signals about the number of international visitors in the coming time, the Chairman of World Travel Awards expressed.

The prestigious awards of the World Travel Awards 2023 come to the Vietnamese tourism industry in the context of the whole industry making efforts to accelerate recovery and accelerate effective and sustainable development.
