Pleiku City is the economic, political , cultural and social center of Gia Lai province, rich in eco-tourism potential with poetic natural landscapes. Along with that, the long-standing cultural traditions of ethnic minority communities (Bahnar, Jrai) expressed through the culture of communal houses, tombs, tomb statues and traditional festivals... are still preserved to this day.
In particular, Pleiku City is also known for its traces of negative volcanic craters (Bien Ho) and positive volcanic craters (Ham Rong Mountain) that have been extinct for millions of years.
Pleiku City is located on the traffic axis between National Highway 14 and National Highway 19, near the Indochina junction, on the Ho Chi Minh route and in the growth triangle of neighboring provinces as well as neighboring countries Cambodia and Laos. This has created favorable conditions for people to trade and travel, connecting tourist areas and spots together.

In recent years, Pleiku City has developed and gradually become an attractive destination of Gia Lai province. Gross domestic product has increased significantly; the economic structure has shifted strongly towards increasing the proportion of industry, trade and services. The city has also attracted many projects in the fields of industry, processing industry, tourism, services, etc.
To date, the city has more than 200 accommodation establishments, including over 60 hotels, 4 guesthouses, 130 motels with over 2,800 rooms and 5,000 beds. In general, hotels and guesthouses in the area are mainly small and medium-sized, but the quality of service is guaranteed according to prescribed standards.

Recently, many businesses have chosen Pleiku City to invest in tourism and service development such as: Dien Hong Park, Bien Ho-Chu Dang Ya Tourist Area, Hoi Phu Stream Tourist Area...
Along with that, the city's tourist attractions and entertainment spots have been invested in upgrading and refurbishing to meet the sightseeing and entertainment needs of local people and attract domestic and foreign tourists such as: Plei Op Cultural Tourism Village, Dien Hong Park, Bien Ho Scenic Relic Site, Pleiku Prison Historical Relic, Hoi Phu Martyrs' Tomb Memorial Temple... In particular, Uncle Ho Monument with the Central Highlands ethnic groups and Dai Doan Ket Square have attracted many groups of visitors...
Currently, in addition to traditional tourism products, Pleiku City has been coordinating with relevant agencies to promote the development of tourism products, bringing a number of new tourism products into exploitation, and has initially received positive feedback from tourists.
Among them, it is necessary to mention tourism products combined with gong performances and xoang dances at Dai Doan Ket Square and Bien Ho Scenic Relic Site. In particular, the city creates conditions and coordinates with the Provincial Tourism Association and tourism service businesses to expand tourism spaces, develop more tours and routes, and increase the length of stay of tourists.

Some new tours and routes have been put into operation such as local community tourism products, experiential tourism, visiting the sculpture garden, weaving and knitting...; learning about the cultural features of local residents in Ia Nueng village (Bien Ho commune) and Op village (Hoa Lu ward). From the cultural values, daily activities and work of the people that tourists learn about... have conveyed to tourists the most authentic and vivid cultural message.
Diversify products to attract tourists
Pleiku city has a cool climate, fresh air, fresh water from Tonle Sap Lake; green and clean agricultural production areas; rich forest resources and extremely beautiful natural landscapes. Therefore, the city has been prioritizing the exploitation of natural advantages and focusing on the health care industry combined with resort tourism.

With the goal of developing Pleiku in the direction of a “ Green Plateau for Health” city, which is suitable for the natural characteristics and cultural identity of the Central Highlands, the city has gradually invested in modern urban technical infrastructure; the system of street trees, parks, and flower gardens has been invested systematically.
In addition, the city also focuses on investing in the construction of public works and social welfare such as: schools, bus stations, hospitals, upgrading airports, temporary car parking systems on roads and sidewalks; detailed planning for the development of commercial areas, supermarkets, markets in areas, shopping pedestrian streets, food streets, safe agricultural markets; attracting investment in hospitals, developing waste and wastewater treatment systems, and urban green tree systems.
At the same time, the city also promotes organic agriculture, high technology and the use of renewable energy industry to preserve the environment as well as create a green, clean and beautiful city to attract tourists.
To build and develop tourism products in the coming time, Pleiku needs to have a systematic planning, screening, research and investment, building and promoting brands to create diverse tourism products, with scale and unique characteristics, how to have national and local tourism products.
Products must also be highly connected to all types of needs and beneficiaries, focusing on products that promote regional strengths and are associated with national cultural identity.

Historical, festival, spiritual, cultural-sports tourism; festival, cultural-ecological and resort tourism will have more and more prospects, especially targeting the market of high-income, retired people who have the conditions to travel and take care of themselves for a long time.
At the same time, pay attention to developing community and popular tourism, in which tourists can eat, sleep, and interact harmoniously with the families and local communities to feel and understand more deeply the local cultural and social life.
In addition to tourism products and tours, the city has been developing specific souvenir products and artifacts that are increasingly diverse and unique, meeting the spending needs of tourists, especially handicraft products, village specialties and unique souvenirs with humanistic and historical values such as: traditional musical instruments, bags, brocade shirts, baskets, miniature wooden statues, etc.

In particular, the city also needs to create diversification in connectivity, association, unity, complementarity and mutual support. between tourism products and agencies, units, departments, branches, stages and activities of hotels-travel-aviation-commerce in cooperation in organizing tours to increase international competitiveness.
At the same time, it is necessary to minimize spontaneous and unhealthy competition between provinces and localities, promote the strengths of each locality and unit, create tours and tourist routes that are closely linked and attractive to tourists for the benefit of common development.
Diversification of tourism products is done not only by creating new individual services, but also by creating new package products. Diversification of services will better meet the needs of tourists, attract more participants to supply products, solve many jobs, increase economic benefits for investors, and develop localities' economy.
