Many travel companies have stated that they are ready to welcome tourists during the September 2nd holiday. This year's holiday lasts for four days, making it quite suitable for domestic travel and short-term international trips.
Not much fluctuation
Vietravel Tourism Company reported that over 9,300 tourists departed during the September 2nd holiday, with several popular domestic tours including: Quang Ninh, the Northwest region tour, the Central Vietnam "heritage route" Da Nang - Hoi An - Hue - Quang Binh , Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Phu Quoc.
According to Mr. Tran Doan The Duy, General Director of Vietravel Tourism Company, the difficult economic situation, coupled with the fact that the September 2nd holiday falls after the peak summer travel season and before the peak autumn-winter travel season, means that the number of tour bookings has not fluctuated significantly. "However, we still see great opportunities from family groups or groups of young people who haven't been able to arrange their summer vacation and will dedicate their time to a relaxing getaway during this period," Mr. Duy said.
Mr. Pham Quy Huy, Director of Kiwi Travel Company, reported that day-trip tours within Ho Chi Minh City are selling quite well, while many people are considering destinations in Central and Northern Vietnam. "This year, apart from some routes to Northeast Asia, tour sales during the holiday period are quite slow. In addition, some customers tend to book tours close to the departure date, so the number will increase in the days leading up to the holiday," Mr. Huy commented.
In the North, Mr. Nguyen Van Tai, Director of VietSense Travel, believes that independent travel continues to be a preferred choice, with destinations near Hanoi such as Ha Giang, Moc Chau, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa... offering experiences like swimming, cloud hunting, and learning about the culture of ethnic minorities in the highlands.
For Da Nang City, statistics show that the total number of flights arriving during the four-day holiday reached approximately 484, including 203 international flights. The total number of visitors arriving by rail was 5,785, a 25% increase compared to the same period last year. The average room occupancy rate was estimated at 50%-55%, with the highest concentration of guests on September 1st and 2nd, mainly in coastal properties and some 4-5 star hotels in the city center.
According to the Kien Giang Provincial Tourism Association, the number of international tourists visiting Phu Quoc during the National Day holiday is expected to increase sharply, mainly from Taiwan (China), South Korea, Russia, etc. Meanwhile, the number of domestic tourists to the "pearl island" is not expected to increase significantly as airfares remain high due to limited flight routes.
Domestic flights to Phu Quoc mainly originate from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; there are only 4 flights per week from Hai Phong, while other routes are temporarily suspended.

Localities are ready to welcome visitors.
Ms. Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said that she has requested accommodation and food businesses in the area to improve service quality and ensure security and food safety. Destinations need to closely cooperate with travel agencies to organize and operate tours safely and professionally.
According to Mr. Nguyen Doan Van, Director of the Hanoi Relics and Scenic Spots Management Board, the unit will display additional artifacts at the revolutionary relic site at 90 Tho Nhuom Street (Hoan Kiem District) and the place where President Ho Chi Minh wrote the Call for National Resistance (Van Phuc Ward, Ha Dong District). Night tours at relics such as Hoa Lo Prison, Ngoc Son Temple, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, and Thang Long Imperial Citadel are also expected to continue attracting tourists.
A leader of the People's Committee of Sam Son City, Thanh Hoa province, said that tourists visiting Sam Son this season do not have to worry about a shortage of accommodation. The local authorities have directed relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of the operations of restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, many resorts in the northern part of the Cam Ranh peninsula are fully booked at this time. The province expects to welcome an increase in the number of tourists compared to the same period last year.
In order to ensure the best possible service provision, Khanh Hoa province's tourism department has issued a document requesting businesses to strictly comply with regulations on registration, price listing, and selling at the listed price; and to focus on fire prevention and control...
Meanwhile, the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Tourism announced that Vietnamese tourists will be exempt from entrance fees to historical sites on September 2nd. In addition, several cultural and sporting events will be organized, such as the "Hue Jogging - Running for the Community" program on the morning of September 1st, the traditional boat race of Thua Thien Hue province, and art performances along the Hue Imperial Citadel pedestrian street.
Historical sites managed by the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center are also preparing ticket sales and traffic management plans in areas with high visitor numbers. Resort hotels are offering on-site culinary experiences and opportunities to showcase local traditional crafts for tourists.
Overseas tours still dominate.
Demand for overseas tours, especially to nearby markets, remains dominant during this holiday season, creating a significant disparity between the domestic and international markets.
Market research and customer demand surveys conducted by Vietluxtour Travel Company show that approximately 60% of individual travelers are booking overseas tours for the September 2nd holiday, while domestic tours account for about 40%. Besides traditional destinations like South Korea and China, newly emerging Southeast Asian tours such as Cambodia and Laos are attracting customers due to their moderate prices, relatively short travel times, and favorable weather.
According to Ms. Vu Bich Hue, Head of Communications at Flamingo Redtours, the percentage of customers booking overseas tours accounts for up to 80%, with preferred destinations being Thailand, China (8.7 million VND/person all-inclusive package), Japan, and South Korea (from 15 million VND/person all-inclusive package)...
According to Mr. Do Xuan Ngoan, Director of Hongaitours, tours to China priced at around 10 million VND per person are very popular with tourists. In particular, overland tours such as Hanoi - Bang Tuong - Nanning, Mong Cai - Tra Co - Dongxing, Ha Khau - Binh Bien - Kien Thuy - Mong Tu... priced at only around 4 million VND per person are especially attractive due to their reasonable cost and short duration.
