Can Tho tourism revenue reaches about 315 billion VND during the holiday

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, during this year's holiday, the total number of visitors and tourists in the area is estimated at 285,000. Of which, the number of tourists staying is estimated at 93,000. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 315 billion VND. The average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments is about 75 - 90%; 4 - 5 star accommodation establishments and accommodation establishments in the city center, Ninh Kieu Wharf have an average occupancy rate of about 85%.

To attract tourists, Can Tho City has organized various commemorative activities such as: Art program to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024); National sports motorcycle racing competition "Caltex Havoline Cub Prix Cup" round 2 in Can Tho; Photo exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; Special book exhibition "Dien Bien - Forever resounding heroic song" to celebrate Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day and respond to World Book and Copyright Day; Special exhibition "Measurement" in the life of people in the Mekong Delta".

Tourist areas and spots also renovate the landscape, decorate miniatures, and focus on the spirit and service attitude to welcome visitors. This year in particular, historical and cultural sites such as Hung King Temple, Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery, Ong Pagoda, Binh Thuy Ancient House, Binh Thuy Communal House... are still very crowded with visitors.

On April 30 and May 1, the functional sector of Can Tho City inspected the transport stations to ensure the good travel of people before and after the holiday. The management board of Can Tho City Central Bus Station informed that it had arranged 500 vehicles on site to transport passengers to provinces/cities across the country and vice versa, especially the Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh route.

After the inspection, Mr. Le Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Transport of Can Tho City said: "We also directed the bus station to reserve a certain number of spare vehicles so that in case of a sudden increase in passengers, all these vehicles can be mobilized to transport passengers, ensuring no congestion at the central bus station. We have also increased inspections during holidays at bus stations and wharfs to ensure traffic safety and order in the city."
